It's true that there is no 'tie goes to the runner,' but there is no 'tie goes to the fielder' either. Whatever they ruled there initially was never going to be overturned.

If we had a true first baseman at first he probably let's our second baseman field the ball that was right at him...

 

Ya. I don't understand why Walker moved to 1B. He's made a few mistakes there already since he's been here.
