Anyone else find it odd that this was essentially in place on Dec 21st, they finally announced the terms yesterday, but no official announcement and 40 man roster adjustment yet. It’s almost like they are stalling the announcement, waiting on a trade or something that would clear a 40 man spot for him.

Yeah, very odd. Kind of did a double take today when looking at the brewers roster and didn’t see him on it yet. That’s what led me to ask in my earlier post.

My understanding was that the Brewers were waiting on the reports of some extensive medical tests before making the signing official. He had a torn lat and opted to not have surgery, so the Brewers probably ran the test results through a few specialists, just to make sure that he was healing properly.

Then say that! Say "still awaiting official confirmation, which is why a 40-man move hasn't been made." Maybe it's because this offseason is just moving incredibly slow, but I just want to see some snippet of progress.

At the current price level for relievers, two years at $1.9M and $4.1M would be a steal if he's healthy and pitching well, and one year $2.5M won't hurt us if he can't come back strong from the injury.

 

Again, I'm glad Stearns hasn't panicked and "paid up" as the reliever market has escalated. This looks like a much more prudent use of funds.

I like the Logan move. I think he has the potential to be the high-leverage LOOGY that the team desperately needed last year. I'm just excited to hear that the team is opening up a 40-man spot by cutting bait on one of the players that probably don't deserve to hold a spot any longer, or that there is a trade in place. At this point, I kind of expect to hear that a player was placed on waivers, and instead they were dealt, but like the spot that was created with the Baker move a couple weeks ago.

I don't think Drake even makes it to spring training. Drake's chances of making the opening day 25 for the Brewers are up there with Tim Tebows.
