Why exactly is Freddy Peralta still in the MLB rotation?

I'm guessing it's because we failed to acquire better options in the off season and/or at the trade deadline.

They could go with Woodruff who at least doesn't have control issues. They could have slotted Burnes right into the starting rotation where he had been his entire career rather than putting him in the pen where he's struggled.

They could have skipped Freddy's starts with the off days this month.

They had other options without watching this crap continue every 5 days.

Apparently they don't believe that.

Woodruff must really have nobody in the organization at this point who believes in him at this point. No other explanation for why he has been given zero chance to take hold of Freddy's spot. Crazy.

Sometimes they're wrong. His performance this month would suggest this may be one of those times.

It’s because Woodruff sucks

Dude has less than 75 not great, but not terrible innings at the MLB level, after putting up great numbers in the minors and being a top 100 prospect. Good stuff. I really don't think anyone knows if he sucks or not.

I'm not disagreeing with you.

Playing Thames in the outfield almost ended the Brewers season.

and yet another reason he shouldn't be in the OF...

To be honest Thames really should be the one catching that ball. He was camping under it while Cain was flying over from CF.

This.

That is all.

Just this.

They didn't even have to have a 5th starter lately with the off days. Just a terrible decision to ride this out yet again in a crucial game.

Can you blame Cain for not trusting that Thames can make that catch? He is a hack in the OF, plain and simple.

I remember when everyone was over the moon about Peralta...haha.

People had him on Hiura's prospect level headlining a trade for DeGrom. It was painful.

Not saying Lorenzo Cain should trust him persay..but should not go colliding with other guys. This isn’t the first time he nearly got into a car accident in the OF. His entire career he dead sprints for anything he thinks he can catch and doesn’t really pay attention.

Watching this is like watching that high school kid who has no clue where the ball is going and the fielders are all caught off guard when a ball is hit. Let's see if Counsell actually gets him out before the game is over.
