I can't believe Counsell trotted this crap lineup out there. Yelich and Grandal need breaks, i get it, but both in the same game?? That's just dumb. They better get to Gray next inning, or it's Garrett and Iglesias and goodnight.

Gamel is okay as a backup once in awhile, but Pina is such a weak, weak, weak, weak, weak, weak, weak, link ... it' hard to watch.

 

Meanwhile down on farm we have a .360+ C with good D. That’s already rostered.

 

Same guy has hit .214 in MLB.

 

Pina defense is elite. For the 1 day per week he plays I’ll take the proven defensive catcher instead of a half year of AAA stats.

Interesting Stat:

As of July 3, 2018, the Brewers had allowed just 320 runs, the fewest RA in the National League at the time.

As of July 3, 2019, the Reds have allowed just 323 runs, the fewest RA in the National League so far.

 

Meanwhile, the Brewers have allowed 421 runs so far in 2019, a difference of +101 year over year.

The Reds had allowed 436 runs as of July 3, 2018 for a difference of -113.

So Counsell is going to let this game finish without a single AB from Yelich?? Is he high or something?? If not for Saladino or Pina, when??

I hear Moose, Thames, and Grandal have a scheduled day of "rest" tomorrow. Grandal did not "rest" completely today.

 

I also heard Braun will "rest" the next two days.

 

We are not sure if Arcia has "rested" enough this week, yet.

Gee Craig...what did you think was going to happen going with Wilkerson in this situation?? I think if anyone needs a couple days off, it's Counsell. Just terrible managing the last couple days.

And at the same time, the Cubs go up 5-4 on the 2nd HR of the game by...of course it's Victor Caritini. They get more big hits from nobodies like caritini and David Freaking Bote than any team I have ever seen. Talk about a horseshoe.
