That 4th loss will probably be the Titans.Henry might run for 250.

Oh man, I just checked. The last time the the Packers beat the Colts on the road, they were the Baltimore Colts, in 1974. Ouch.

What a Sunday for us. Bears lose, Seahawks lose, cardinals lose, Tampa getting smoked. Everything is coming up milhouse!
Remember what Yoda said:

Went to sleep REALLY early last night. What on Earth happened to Tampa?

The Saints are a game up on them and would own a tie-breaker by virtue of winning the season series 2-0. Winning their division got a lot harder after last night.

Tampa didn't show up. They looked disjointed and uninterested on offense, and that hyped defense let the Saints march right down the field on every possession. Watch out for that Saints team, though. With Michael Thomas back and healthy, they are truly dangerous.

Steelers have added 4 players including big ben to the covid list, though it looks like they might just be close contact adds and available to play this weekend.

Indy is definitely a tough test and bad matchup. They don't run the ball well, but their defense could give us fits and I still expect them to put up some points.

If we are really a Super Bowl contender, a game like the one against Indy on the road is one we need to put in the W column at some point.

Well, anyone that wanted another test for the Packers will get one in Indy. That defense is near the top in everything and Rivers is beyond good enough to make the Packers look terrible.

It doesn’t help that Indy will be coming off a mini-bye.

Indy's offense is horrible. They'll need some turnovers or special teams help to score points.

Horrible is a bit of a stretch I think. The defense is the strength of the team for sure, but the offense is middle of the road in most things, and around the top of the bottom third in efficiency. I've certainly seen worse QBs and teams destroy crappy Packer defenses.

I'm no big Rivers fan or anything. But I find it kind of funny how much he gets dumped on. He gets bashed and talked about how he should be benched basically after every loss. Yet here they are 6-3 in first place. Seems too many people forget there is a middle ground between being awesome (Wilson, Mahomes, Arod etc) and sucking/trash/awful.

Rivers is a good QB and has been throughout his career. When people say GB wasted Rodgers they should look no further than SD and the Rivers situation. Now that is a waste.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

He has a really, really good defense.

He's ok but certainly for his career has been a tier below the elite guys. He's a game manager which might be all you need when you have the defense they do. I wouldn't rely on him in a shoot out though.

Never found Phillip Rivers to be much of a leader and certainly wasn't much of a difference maker with the football. Don't get me wrong, he has had a solid career, but it seems he always had a solid core around him offensively to make him look good. His defenses were fine and even had a number of them that ranked Top 10 in the NFL. There were only three occurrences in his entire time with the Chargers he didn't have a defense in the top half of the NFL. The fact he only managed one appearance in the AFCCC is a bit reflective of him.

He gets dumped on because of the movement toward efficiency/analytics and a guy that throws that many picks is going to be (rightfully) criticized under that light.

He's a better version of Jay Cutler and a worse version of Brett Favre.

Rivers is the most statuesque quarterback in the league. If there ever was a game for Pettine to finally implement a pass rush, this is the game. If he doesn't, he should be fired yesterday.

Well this season he's a slightly better version of Nick Foles. Maybe. Foles does have 2 fewer games played.

RIP Paul Hornung. A man with a complicated legacy. I'm hoping the Packers eventually retire #5, officially rather than the current unofficial retirement.

All true on Rivers. But sometimes that's all you can do as the best guys aren't available. Also, obviously Rivers is a shell of his former self too at this age. Overall point was too many are too quick to call someone complete trash if they're not elite. I guess its the nature of internet/hot take culture these days. I used to say similar in regards to Jay Cutler, obviously we all saw his flaws and I used to laugh at his picks vs GB, but what else were they going to do bench him and play someone like Jim Sorgi? And how's it been going on the QB front since he left. Of course it can work the opposite where you shake it up and get lucky in the draft, but it's a big gamble. Being the 14th-18th best QB in the world but not top 5 doesn't mean you're trash. Prime Rivers/Cutler were probably even slightly better than that range.
