March Madness 2021

I still have 5/8 elite eight teams alive...so my bracket isn't a total disaster.

My daily picks:

2 Iowa over 7 Oregon

1 Gonzaga over 8 Oklahoma

14 Abilene Christian over 11 UCLA

5 Creighton over 13 Ohio

1 Michigan over 8 LSU

5 Colorado over 4 Florida State

2 Alabama over 10 Maryland

6 USC over 3 Kansas

I am guessing Abilene wins today or one of the other double digit seeds wins today (outside of UCLA, obviously).

My final 4 is still alive too but it will be down to three after tonight when Michigan loses because the Big Ten is overrated.

Watching Kansas take a 30-point beat down is somewhat enjoyable.

Understandable, you gotta find something enjoyable when your own team hasn’t seen the Elite Eight since 2014-2015.

Gonzaga is like a Euroleague team. So fluid and easy. That would be a great championship. Baylor's "tougher," I think, especially in a halfcourt game, and probably more athletic, but the Zags just run 5 guys at you who can all do so many things.

I think Gonzaga is the best college basketball team I've watched. Ahead of that 14-15 Kentucky team, and, yes, the Badger team from that year too. If anyone can go unbeaten, it's them. How will they react if it's a one possession game down the stretch? Can they handle physicality? I don't know. We'll see.

This Alabama-UCLA game is bananas.

Alabama can’t hit a free throw to save their life.

That's how half of games are decided but yeah, that was pathetic even for high school games.

Pathetic was that review that “looked like” it ‘probably’ brushed his shorts.

That’s pathetic and not the purpose of review. What a joke. That game was incredible till review came and caused an endless delay at the end...then after the garbage overturn they went and blew a call on Alabama when they got fouled, but didn’t call it.

Haven't watched a ton of the tourney, but Michigan is an interesting team to me for two reasons:

1.Lone big ten team remaining, and for a conference that's had a horrible tourney they are one win away from putting a team in the final four, but more intriguing,

2. Sportsbooks have a huge liability on their hands in michigan....I believe they were over 100-1 odds to win it all well into the season, and odds remained pretty long until alot of smart money and big ticket wagers bet on that action. If Michigan wins it all, Vegas is taking a huge bath.

I hate when the Oregon States of the world make it this far. It usually means an elite team gets a bye week to the Elite 8 or the Final Four. Lame.

At least Oregon State made it a game toward the end.

Michigan had a super clean look at a 3pt and Wagner just completely whiffed it, and then Eli Brooks takes a no look shot over his back/behind his head with almost 10 seconds left on the clock. Dude, you have time to set, dribble, look for someone, ANYTHING. Don't just blindly throw the ball up in the air. You're down a point.

In general I pull for the big ten in tournament time and bowl games. The exceptions are Michigan and Ohio State, I just don’t root for those two in any circumstance.

Quite the run for UCLA.

That Wagner shot was so funny because immediately after it was released you could tell it was going to be way short.

That was brutal. Like one of those Giannis 3's where he's got 3-4 seconds and dribbles a few times in a close game. You have a pretty good idea that it'll come up short.

I remember before the tournament thinking there was a strong possibility two Big Ten teams make the final four. Might even end up with three! Boy was I wrong! Yuck.

I was trying to cheer for Michigan, but it is really hard. I actually like Howard (at least my favorite of the fab-5). Still didn't hurt to hear that they lost. Granted... I don't care to see West Coast teams look so much better than the Big10 either...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I’m just a tad too young to remember the Fab 5, so I’ve never really understood the hype surrounding a team that LOST back-to-back national championship games. I guess they wore black socks and baggy shorts, so they at least looked really cool while losing ... ?

All freshman joining together to play. It was unheard of. Not too long before that freshman weren’t even allowed to play varsity sports. Many of the NCAA records were broken because of the ability to play 4 years. Give Pistol Pete another year...and the 3 point line...on my...
