A football catch shouldn't be science. Ball hit the ground and he didn't have control of it. Incomplete...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I hate the NFL. Why do I watch this absolute crap.

Yeah there's no doubt it's the worst officiated and has the worst set of rules between the three major levels of football (Pro, college, high school).

That was sort of a dumb challenge. There wasn't all that much to gain.

It was like a 15 yard completion. And all scoring plays and turnovers are automatically reviewed. What bigger play should they wait for to challenge?

I thought it was the right call. Didn’t like the outcome obviously, but when it looked like it may have popped loose, it went right back toward the receiver’s chest. The call could have gone either way.

Doesn't matter if he controlled it after. Ball hit the ground and moved. Same as if it bounced off the ground.

we are witnessing why going for it on 4th and goal was the right call
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Probably one of much more significant yardage or one that isn't 2nd and 10 if ruled incomplete.

It was stupid.

But did it move enough to overturn the original call? I say no.

Defense is still not good.

No, but played very good in the 1st half. Gave up 0 points if the obvious grounding was called. Now we'll see if they're good enough at the end.

These officials can suck a fat one.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

This is what I meant by it not being science. It isn't subjective about "moving enough". It hit the ground and moved = incomplete.

So the penalty with the most emphasis in the league today, not called on an obvious one. In 2021, how do they not have a ref or two in the booth watching monitors and throwing a virtual flag.
