Clint Frazier released

Posted

The Yankees just released Clint Frazier and he is now a free agent. What do you think about the Brewers taking a chance on him? I would love to see it. Former first round pick, still only 26 and has had success at the major league level.

Career line of .239/.327/.434 but in 2020 slashed to an OPS of .905.

Worth a shot?

Damn, I remember wanting us to draft him way back when. I suppose he’s worth taking a shot on. Would definitely fall under the possible diamond in the rough pickup that Stearns is always on the lookout for.

Absolutely worth a shot. I'd go after him right away; his value will only increase if it is announced that there will be a DH in the NL.

As a note, Frazier is 27. Still young.

I've always been intrigued by Frazier's bat. His glove - not so much.

Last year was just a train wreck for him. But in 2019-20, he hit .267 and hit 20 HR on 350 ABs. That was pretty good for a 24-25 year old.

I don't know what happened last year, but if the team likes him, I think he'd be very interesting to add.

He is arby eligible this year.

My main thing is Frazier's defense. I've not seen him much, so I can only go by reports - but it's been pretty brutal. I'm not sure we want another hack in the field. Adding the DH might mitigate some of that.

He had a concussion that led to vertigo and he really hasn't recovered. He very well may have been Corey Koskie'd and never plays baseball again.

I hadn't heard about that. No matter what happens, you just hope he can get his health back. Thanks.

The last I head of Clint Frazier is he pulled himself from a minor league game last summer and never played again, with some real non-specific comments about his injuries being personal and private which sounds more like a mental health thing than a physical ailment.

No team will bring him into an organization until he's actually available and ready to play.

Just remember: The Yankees (with so much invested in him) could have out-righted Clint to their AAA club after Clint cleared waivers.

IF Clint simply needed more time, the Yankees were in position to provide it and wait. But instead they decided to cut ties..

I strongly disagree.
