2022 Minor League Transaction Thread

I am hoping we see a Churio move to Wisconsin.  I think he has done all he can at Carolina.  But the Front Office would know more than me.  They've been aggressive in the past so let's see if they stay the course.

I saw this elsewhere, but we should stay current here:

  • RHP Jason Alexander was optioned to the Nashville Sounds from the Brewers
  • INF/OF Tyler Black was officially placed on the infamous 7 Day IL by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

I, for one, am not looking forward to the diagnosis seeing the post-dive display of arm immobility. If we recall, Garrett Mitchell was placed on the 7-Day for two months and OF Carlos Rodriguez is still mysteriously listed on the 7-Day IL on the T-Rats official Team and Roster page. The injury didn't look good. Hopefully, we get get news!

As I had mentioned a few weeks back, Carlos Rodriguez will miss the remainder of the 2022 season after tearing multiple ligaments in his knee.

Oh, I'm well aware my friend, and we always love your updates?.

I am merely noting: in 2022, the 7-Day IL is all too often a wee more unfortunate than we initially discover. You sharing when you did (and, again, we thank you for such wonderful updates) doesn't change the fact the Team roster still showcases a '7 Day IL'. Clearly, these updates have a small amount of latency on the actual team websites?. This is what I was referencing. I see it was unclear:

Completely agree that it can be confusing at times, just meant it as a reminder for anyone that may have seen your post and had not seen the previous update!  Appreciate the kind words!

what going on with Micah Bello this year??? seems like the guy is always hurt

Played great in Carolina and received a well-deserved promotion. He was playing his best stretch of baseball for the T-Rats through mid June and then was placed on the infamous 7-Day IL June 20th. We haven’t seen him since, unfortunately. Wisconsin really needs some of their bats back.

2022 Brewers organizational walked batters and hit batters leader (guesstimation on my part, don't look it up!) LHP Jakob Brustoski was assigned to the ACL Brewers Gold from the Carolina Mudcats bullpen.

For a guy who can literally strike anyone and everyone out, this is probably a good move as he looks to hone his control numbers.

It was a great moment when #FreeLukeBarker came to fruition earlier this season.  Unfortunately, the right-handed reliever will undergo season-ending elbow surgery in the coming weeks.  It is unclear at the moment if the procedure will be Tommy John or something less significant.  While he will miss the remainder of 2022, there is hope that he may be ready come spring training.

That's too bad.  They finally gave him his shot too.

Any news on Clayton Andrews or Logan Henderson?

Clayton Andrews, Logan Henderson, Caden Lemons, Jhoan Cruz, Shane Smith, Rafael Garcia, Pedro Quintana all slated to appear in game action by early to mid-August.  However, any number of these names may have suffered a setback that I have not yet caught wind of.

Speaking of which, the Timber Rattlers sent RHP Rafael Garcia on a rehab assignment to the ACL Brewers Blue today. This is great news!

I’m going to post this here because I miss watching his smooth outfield play and his lefty bat in the Sounds lineup:

OF David Dahl signed with the Washington Nationals on a Minor League contract and he was assigned to their Triple-A affiliate in Rochester.

Best of luck to David in what should be a great opportunity to possibly get back to the Major Leagues.

- RHP Rafael Garcia assigned to ACL Brewers Blue for rehab assignment

- 21-year old Garcia threw 49 2/3 innings in the ACL last year (6.16 ERA). He will now make his 2022 debut

I know Black is being shut down for the season, but have they specified the injury?
He wouldn't be ready to replace Wong next season, but I was hoping he'd be able to be in the majors in 2024.

Left arm injury of some sort. We most likely won’t know for awhile.

Judging by the play itself I guesstimated dislocated/fractured/injured left elbow/shoulder. When he walked off the Diamond he had completely immobilized his left arm and was propping it up with his right arm. The trainer was massaging locations on said elbow and shoulder.

And this speculative play-by-play was brought to you by my slow Saturday morning.
