New Chat Policy

We're all familiar with the unfortunate fact that the chat room has a capacity of 25 at any one time. Normally, this doesn't pose much of a problem, but periodically there are events which everyone wants to get in on (e.g. last night). To make most efficient use of the space that we are allotted, we (Hawing and I) would prefer people not to squat spots in the chat room. If you're not planning on participating in the chat, please don't prevent other people from having the opportunity.

 

In order to enforce this, individuals who are not contributing to the conversation will be booted (not banned) from the chat. Whenever the chat is at capacity, the listing of the chat members will be perused (every 15 minutes or so) for perceived squatters. Those individuals will receive an instant message encouraging them to start participating; if there is no response, they will be booted. We hope to benefit those who truly want to chat.

 

NOTE: This only takes effect when the chat is filled to capacity.

wow, that's a ton of work into this site, and kudos to the people who spend so much time with it.

i'm mostly a hawk on the chat forum, and it seems fine to me: must be a lot of people always trying to get in. so why not make sure things are lively by making sure people are talking.

so far the rules here haven't been to Stalin-esque, and I have yet to recieve my strike-one. i know it's a ton of work to maintain an open yet civilized forum, and so far, so good. definitely no interest in returing to the ESPN board.

couldn't agree with all of the talk here enough. i chatted during the game for the first time the other night and it was a good time.

the only complaint i had is by the end of the game i couldn't look at the chat becuase many of you knew what happened at least 5 seconds before the HD in my house played it... lol

 

Whether it was "poop", or "hfwabfjkasdjfhsldfh" and many more, I just couldn't handle it. lol
