Yeah, we're playing without Renfroe, Adames, Narvaez, Urias, and Yelich.  What's happening today is pretty predictable.

This times a million!

The quality of the contact has never been there for him. What's the use of contact if it's weak contact, other than occasionally moving runners over.

A guy like Reyes is ok to have to fill in for 10 days or a few weeks as a backup utility guy.  He can slap .250 or so and play multiple positions, and pop a double here or there.  It's when you have to start using guys like Reyes every day that things get pretty sketch.

He is very the definition of a replacement-level player, having accumulated 0.0 WAR over the course of his career.

Excellent point ... except the part about Yelich.  :)

Doesn't help that Adames and Urias are both out.  Like I said, if Reyes was up, and just playing once a week, PH'ing and coming in as a defensive sub or something, I have no problem with a guy like Reyes.  Just don't want him starting 3-4 days a week.

I still like Yelich's ability to draw walks enough that I'd rather have him playing over ..... well whatever other options we have.

Yep. Why I said I can't wait for Tuesday, when it looks like Adames will be back to assume pretty much all of his playing time. Also promising in that it sounds like Urias won't have to go on the IL.

I get what you're saying but the reality is the not one of those guys is OPSing over .800 except Renfore, and barely so.  The truth is that outside of the starting pitching and the very back end of the bullpen, this team is running a whole lot of marginal talent out there on a day to day basis.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

The only reason I can think of why they haven't brought up Turang is that they don't want to start his clock?  I don't know.  They might not want to start his service time if he's not going to play at least the majority of his time while he's in the bigs.  If Adames and Urias are both on the roster, Turang isn't going to play a whole lot, and I understand that. But still, at times you might wish that those kinds of decisions were more tilted in favor of what's best for the team in a "go for it" season.

Narvaez, Adames, Urias, are not "marginal" talents. And Tellez is OPSing over .800, too. Let's not read too much into this recent stretch.

I didn't say they were but .779, .779 and .740...

Aside from Yelich, these guys are all pretty capable offensive performers.  I'll let everyone decide what their own definition of "marginal" is, but if you're carrying an OPS+ over 100, you're starting caliber.  Adames, Renfroe, Urias, and Narvaez are all over 100 OPS+, and will help the offense quite a bit by simply replacing the guys that have taken their places.

The Brewers will be fine once they get back to playing AAA major league teams like the Reds, Pirates and Cubs.

Can we designate Cain for assignment and send Hiura back once the roster is back to normal.  I cannot stand seeing Cain anymore look like a 50 yr old man swinging.

Narvaez's OPS is awesome for a catcher, and he's one of the best pitch framers in the biz. Adames led the league in homers for a shortstop when he went on the IL and was headed for an all-star appearance. Urias was worth a 3.0 WAR last year with over 20 home runs and was hitting like that until his recent thumb issue flared up. There's a greater context to all of these things. Just saying "their OPS is below .800!" doesn't really work.

This is just not accurate. I suggest you read this article from @Tim Muma.

I don't read articles starting with "Ignore the Haters" in the Title as it's either click bait or written by a high schooler,

It's very thorough and from a very well-respected poster/contributor on this site, so I don't know what the heck you're talking about. And quite offensive if you ask me.
