Everyone should get a little bit Rowdy!

Rowdy has been a great addition to the team and boosted our 1B production, but you've got to love this story.

“I’m not a superstar. I’m not a big figure in baseball,” Tellez said. “I have a cool name so people remember that. But I think what I do is I’m super relatable to people. I always tell people, ‘I’m a normal guy with a bad hairline who has a cool job.’ That’s really it.

I love having a team of likeable players.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Milwaukee does seem to bring out the best in 'averageish' players. At the very least, they seem to love them. Burnitz was another guy the city loved.

One thing I've always liked about Wisconsin teams is that they tend to be filled with good guys, guys that are easy to root for. The Brewers, in particular, always seem to be packed to the brim with fun dudes that get along really well (winning the last few years probably doesn't hurt).

I always find these statements kind of interesting. Certainly the media portrays certain players as “good guys”.

However, virtually zero fans really know anything about players besides what the media and PR departments want people to know.

For example, Zach Davies was portrayed as a “good guy” involved with the local humane society, participates in Brewers social media antics, etc. Turns out he was a guy who ran around on his wife with other women and eventually abandoned her and their home via text.

Oh come on now, Rowdy, we all know that isn't true.

I did find his quote ironic... ?

That is a fair point and the main reason I don't buy jerseys with people's name on them.   But I've also endured arrogant BB players on our team so I'm thankful when people at least realize they are blessed to play a game for a living (not that it is easy) and spread some joy to fans along the way.

Rowdy also reminds me of Burnitz -- who can forget the 99 home run derby when Jeromy apologized to the fans for making the final round.

Also, I had a reliable source tell me that Burnitz was known to show up at Culver's in Brookfield right when they opened (to avoid being recognized) and order a family sized chili cheese fry for himself. What could be more Wisconsin than that?
