They're a mid-tier offense, per both the stats accumulated thus far and the projected stats. The way people talk on here you'd think they were mired in the mid to high 20s....

No, I think it’s been made pretty clear by most posters that they are evaluating the offense based on a comparison to playoff contenders. And mid tier for the entire league is the bottom for the playoff contenders.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I assume Ashby is back next turn? Otherwise I haven’t a clue what this was tonight - and why?? A guy used to starting first time from the pen is likely not going to go well …

Then what is Tampa compared to the rest of the AL playoff contenders?

After the 2 walks the hook should have come out.

Didnt Hook come out to talk with him?

If you mean removed from the game- 3 at bat minimum.

Edit: and not defending him, but he threw a pitch down the middle called a ball.

Not sure why Counsell did that but it wasn't good idea. Like I said Alexander has done his job as a starter. Give him Houser spot and let's get on with the Houser in the pen that we all agree is best for all.

Besides the fact that that's definitely not how the posters I'm talking about have framed it, Fangraphs, which you cite, has the Padres, Giants, Rays, Phillies, and White Sox all averaging equal or less runs per game over the rest of the season....

I don’t think he’s eligible until 7/2

Sophia said they're looking for him to start Saturday (7/2) or Sunday (7/3). So, if that holds and with the off-day yesterday, there's no need for Chi Chi anymore.

I don’t really care about them, but their offense is weak for a playoff contender too. The AL doesn’t have that many teams over .500 so they could make the playoffs as a wild card team but they would have a hard time going very far.

I don’t know what posters you are talking about but I know I have made my position on this as clear as possible, including as recently as yesterday.

I don’t look at the AL teams because the scoring in the AL has generally been lower and the Brewers aren’t competing with those teams.

Fangraphs has the Brewers scoring 4.43 RPG the rest of the way, the same as it has been so far. The full season projection keeps them last among NL playoff contenders.

I’m amused that Fangraphs projects the Brewers to win the division with 88 wins to the Cardinals 86, which is exactly what I had in my preseason prediction.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
