I remember when the MLB record for a 9 inning game was less than 4 hours.

Now the Brewers seem to get a couple of them every year.

But there haven’t been any replay reviews, which take up more time.

While we wait for the 9th inning to start I have another random comment.

When they show the crowd at a key moment of the game there are always at least a few people holding up their phones to record the moment. It’s beyond me why someone at the event would want to watch it through their phone or be distracted by holding it up.

If you want to see a video if something it’s easy enough to find. Would you enjoy it more if you have a recording that shows the view from your seat and what you would have seen better if you hadn’t been holding your phone up?

And how often are you actually going to pull out that video and watch it?

When it really bugs me is when people hold their phones up and obstruct my view.

So, when someone is able to make contact and hit it hard enough to get it through or over the infield maybe we should recognize that instead of classifying them as weak hits.

That's a fine opinion - one ball was off the end of the bat through and opening. The other was a blooper, and the last one was a 4 hopper through the infield. The balls were not hit hard. That would make them soft or weak hits. That was my only point. You keep coming back to this like I'm saying they werent hits and it is an odd thing to keep bringing up. Just like the infield single to Urias...that was a weak hit.

It helped pass the time in a 4 plus hour game.

Man.  Hader isn’t good right now.    We might need him to take a break as a closer since we have a dominant reliever now

but hey!!!!!    We won 10-9.

Phewww. Hader's not that far away from being dominant again, but he's gotta start locating and mixing better.

Seems to be getting hurt with the fastball a lot.

I think you meant “closer”, not “loser”. ?

Ya know, whatever else you say about Counsell, these Brewers are resilient and seem to give up a lot less than, say, posters in the game thread.  I can just tune out when it looks bad, but they are there, in the dugout, stuck dealing with what must be some frustrating stuff.  And they get past the goofs and bad breaks and opponent comebacks, and win a surprising number of games that I had written off.

I can't say all of that is Counsell, but some of it must be.
