Who loves him?  There are only two people that even like him.  Unfortunately those two determine his status on the roster and his playing time but nobody else is even in ike with him.

I'm speaking of the Brewers not the fan base. That said you are correct.

Alright, it's the game thread, so obviously venting is healthy.

I'm not concerned with PHing that much. Fine. You have the roster space, might as well use it.

I'm not concerned with Bixberger giving up a run. Bad defense, and, without the deadline moves, that's probably Gotta in that position. Okay.

At this point, the 3 catchers should be done. There aren't enough ABs. You probably tried to trade one of those guys and didn't get the right offer. Severino seems like he should go. Somebody probably grabs him, but what are you gonna do? Isn't Hiura more valuable right now?

Brewers: I don't now where we'd fit in another bat

Also Brewers: Let's put in our 3rd catcher and career 678 OPS hitter as a pinch hitter.

Hmmm...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Wild that the entire front office was unable to determine what we have all seen is the case all year. You can't hit lefties. You need a big bat. It is impossible to believe you could not find one guy. Well I guess you kept Ethan Small so there is that.

Yeah, I just think the right deal wasn't there. And, sadly, due to the economics of baseball, the Brewers cannot afford deadline overpays. It sucks. But I think we're dealing with the structure of the sport (which means the best strategy for Milwaukee is to try to be perpetually in the playoff hunt and to avoid ever going all-in) rather than front office failure.

Given the roster crunch that's been created, it's almost perverse that McGee might have saved himself from a DFA and Milner is out here pitching lights out to try not to be optioned or Phantom IL'd tomorrow.

So it's Strzelecki optioned and either someone hits the IL or Gott DFA'd tomorrow?

This guy doesn’t strike many hitters out. What are the odds he strikes out three Brewers hitters?

Whatever they were, it paid out.

Pretty good... :(

Losing to the Pirates in a game with Burnes pitching sets the tone for where this team is heading imo. No doubt the players feel the front office let them down. I sure do. It's bad.

Craig really got too cute pinch hitting for Tellez and Wong who were a combined 5/6 with 2 HR.

He’s gotten too cute this year. And other times is asleep at the week. No bat will fix that.

The home run or nothing offense emerges again.

Another brutal loss to the Pirates, who have suddenly become Brewer killers.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I mean, Burnes had a really bad inning after being staked a 3-run lead. Couldn't throw strikes. That's frustrating, but that and some bad defense after Box came in give you an L.

I think CC definitely got too cute playing matchups in the 7th. But Brosseau is on the roster for one reason--hit LHP. Instead, he got hit. Cutch couldn't get it done. Severino gets one AB a week.

7-3 since the break and +1.5 on the Cards I'll take. Gained ground on PhIlly and quite a bit on the slumping Giants. It's all good, folks. This is going to be tight all the way to the end, but the Brewers have the best team.
