We’re really going to get swept, aren’t we? Reminds me of the 5-game sweep in Pittsburgh right before the ASB a few years ago.

Swept with our three aces starting.

The team is imploding without Hader and I don't think its a coincidence. The players were very upset that we gave away and yes they gave the best reliever in baseball away and they have played like it.

Oh look ... Brewers winning all game, and as soon as the Pirates tie it up, here you are. Coincidence?

For the record I was in favor of trading Hader but not for the lousy return we got. I would rather have kept him for the next 1.5 years and let him walk than take what we did in return. Preller worked Stearns over really badly.

Not only have the Pirates been beating the Brewers but they have been coming from behind to do it.

The Brewers formula of scoring a couple of runs and then having the pitching nurse the runs to the finish isn’t working.

Maybe against this pitching they should be scoring more than 3 runs.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Good thing he'll be running the Mets next year.

Its just a matter of time and the deadline showed he has checked out.

These umps don't get paid near what these players are getting paid, AND if they are getting cussed at, I think the ump should throw the player/coach/manager out of there!

Does anybody chew out and cuss at the players when they mess up on the field or are perceived as messing up?  Hardly ever!  So why should the ump have to endure that sort of thing?  They shouldn't!

The players/managers need to stop acting like prima-donas!

Horrendous take. An umpires fragile little ego doesn't have to potentially change the outcome of a baseball game. NBA and NFL umpires hear quite a bit. The NBA has the technical foul system while NFL generally starts with a 15 yard penalty. In NFL it is exceedingly rare to see a 15 yard penalty for chewing out a ref unless he's also on the field too far or some other circumstance. NBA you see a fair amount of technicals but I still think they give quite a bit more rope in NBA than MLB. Either way, it's no warning. I remember seeing Greinke get thrown out in the first inning for getting upset at himself for making a bad pitch. Diva umpire thought it was directed at him. I saw Moustakas get tossed for trying to have a conversation with an umpire about a call the previous day. A conversation in a calm voice. He was mic'd up so it all made it on twitter or wherever. And now we the fans get to watch a lesser product for 3 innings because of bad umpiring and bad precedent.

Edit - in this case, the umpire was definitively wrong on both calls. You can call them close, but they were balls. Yelich was right twice and the umpire made 4 bad calls.

Get the bat off your shoulder, Yeli!

Stop blaming the umps for your passive approach!

The 2, 3, and 4 hitters go out meekly.

We didn't need any offensive upgrades just 17 new relievers to replace the best in baseball.

What's wrong with Gasser and Ruiz?

Back to back HRs from Gorman and Goldschmidt and a double from Arenado to start the 7th and the Cubs lead is all but gone.

ETA: 2 fly outs to the warning track in center tie it up.

He complained after his teammate didn't get the call on what was basically the same pitch, not after he struck out. His "more passive approach" is what's made him an effective leadoff hitter. But not today. Recency bias.

Nothing. But when things aren't going well, certain personalities seem to love to smell blood in the water.

Give it a rest already people are allowed opinions that you don't agree with.

They are decent prospects but not enough for 1.5 years of Hader.

I think they're more than decent. And you weren't going to get much more with Rogers being included in the deal.

I'd have asked for better prospects instead of half a year of Rogers.
