Phillies won so the Brewers lose at least 1/2 game in the W.C. standings no matter what happens in SD.  If SD wins it's 1 game to 3.5 back.

2 runs on 5 hits is about the most you can expect from this offense unless the opponent kicks in with healthy helpings of walks and errors.

See it absolutely does.  If the pitcher throws with his left hand, nobody can hit the ball.  If they throw with their right hand, they can hit the ball.

It really wouldn't make a difference with this rotation and bullpen.  Better to keep the prospects.

I agree but any chance for doing anything effectively ended when they didnt add a bat.

they needed the players they have to perform.   They didn’t and they haven’t.

Agreed, one hitter wasn't going to change our fate this season.  Trading prospects for one hitter that wasn't going to take us to the playoffs would have been a bad move.

Time to reset and do something different this offseason (because what we've been doing the past couple of off seasons obviously isn't working).

Not going to rehash what happened tonite as it was a show we've unfortunately seen too often. What I took away from this game was Topa & how the organization seems to think he's worth continually giving chances to. I know he didn't give up any runs (somehow) but his stuff looks awfully straight, with decent but not exceptional velocity. Just don't see much there.
