I honestly expected us to get swept, so I won't be too upset if the game ends like this. (My major upsettedness is reserved for the Saint's ridiculous second half and 5 (FIVE!) turnovers vs Tampon Bay.)

Oh well, we won the series, which is what we had to do at minimum. Padres winning, but thankfully the Phillies are about to get swept by the Braves. Both have killer schedules remaining whereas the Brewers' is significantly easier.

Let us hope.

I'm old enough to remember when I thought the Brewers would win this game.

Who would have thought that Alexander was better than our bullpen?

Hiura has been so bad this month.

When he doesn’t play, pretty tough to put up numbers. Cannot believe how he is treated so that bad players can hit DH.

This is one of those teams you can only keep down for so long. Props to the BP on Friday, and Woodruff & Williams last night for delaying it until today.

Coulda been one of those back-and-forth games that ends 11-10, but Wong led off with the double & was spot-welded there the entire inning, that hurt. Then the terrible AB by Tellez with 1 out & runners at the corners.

I would've started the 5th with Suter, but no indication that would've made any difference.

We know of Smalls' struggles here. What I would like to know is, how does Alexander measure up with Lindblom or even Boushley? It's probably pick your poison, I'd just like to know what went into Jason coming out on top in the comparison.

"How he's treated?" I keep hearing that line on here. Bottom line is he's a professional who has to produce when called upon. And he doesn't help himself with the huge hole he has in his bat. Counsell gave him a chance to start regularly for two weeks recently and he did nothing with that opportunity.

I think a better question is why is Alexander in the major leagues.  ERA of 5.40 - WHIP of over 1.7 - in 71 IPs allowed 88 hits, 12 HRs.  - teams are hitting over .300 against him.  Is the Brewers' farm system that horribly weak that they don't have anybody better than a DFA candidate?

Cole was a bad matchup for Hiura today, in his defense. Unless he could get ahead in the count by laying off high heat, and that didn't happen. It's the same reason why Taylor was a good choice today, IN HINDSIGHT (lol). I get the feeling though that Taylor, Urias, & Hiura were starting today no matter who the opposing pitcher was. It was more a " It's Sunday, and you haven't started yet in the series" thing.

If only Counsell had sent him a Valentine this year, maybe Hiura would have actually gotten a hit there and avoided the 0-for...

Come on,  now.  heheheh

Maybe we should see if the actor can get someone out.

I will say it looks like a lovely day at the ballpark.  Wish I were there instead of getting a snoot full of residual yeast from all the stale beer and wine bottles I sorted for recycling.   I predict a homer.

He's here because they've had to go beyond their first 7 or 8 starting options this season, due to injury & Small being ineffective. Pretty much any team that has to go that deep is turning to AAAA or reclamation type guys. You usually don't have 2-3 prospects in your AAA rotation, but you do have to wonder if he's better than the aforementioned Boushley or Lindblom.

And they just aren't going to go to Gasser. The people on here who aren't bored with the super 2 & arby-eligible stuff like I am can explain that better than I.

Just too many trash pitchers throwing against a good lineup.  The lack of talented depth really caught up with this team this year.
