Meh. I don't view 1000 rbi as a sacred milestone that should not be challenged.  I'm also surprised that McCutchen only has 1000 rbi in his career.

he played on a lot of bad teams.

Someone just checking on this thread might think the game was in a rain delay so a discussion about Hiura broke out.

Meanwhile the Phillies have increased their lead to 7-0. If they win tonight and win one more over the weekend, it will be getting close to the point where winning out might not be good enough for the Brewers.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Man, there's being efficient with your pitches, and there's whatever Perdomo is doing tonight.

Maybe someone on the Brewers realized the Reds are fielding a lineup that would struggle against AA pitching and told the pitchers to just throw strikes.

Thanks, Atlanta. It wasn’t enough to directly end our season last year, you have to do your darndest to indirectly end it this year?  And after stealing our franchise to boot?  Go pound sand.

The Cubs and Pirates had a lot more to do with the Brewers situation than the Braves.

10 outs with only 27 pitches.

Right, if you want to step all over the joke, then I’ll grant you your point.

But seriously, to your point, it will never cease to amaze me that ten games is all it takes to separate one of the best seasons in team history and a pretty big disappointment (assuming, as I am, that Milwaukee will finish this year with a mid-80s win total).  Take just four more wins each from Chicago and Pittsburgh and this whole season is so different. It’s maddening.

Just win the games you are up by 4-5 runs in the last couple of innings and you’d be fine

this team just sucks

Not sure I’d go so far as to say they suck.  They have sucked to watch, especially for the last three months or so, but they’re definitely not a bad team.  They are just also not a great one, and that’s the agony of the 2022 Brewers.  A lot of buttons got pushed and it didn’t quite add up.

The Padres matched the Brewers scoring that inning and are now up 2-0 on the Rockies.

Grichuk just homered to make it 2-1. But who knows how long that will last in that ballpark.

Yeah, ok. But do you even remember the 90’s?  How I grew up through that and didn’t give up on the franchise entirely is a minor miracle to me.  That’s why I won’t go that far.
