I like Winker as the 2 hitter and that means the team has high expectations for him this season.

So this is what it'll look like when a guy throws over twice with a fast baserunner on 1st...the first attempt was a whoops but the second one was EASY.

I'm glad he's hitting high in the lineup, his best tool is his ability to work the count and get on base. Unfortunately, he's the worst baserunner I have ever seen.

That was my experience at the spring training game that I was at. If you can bait the pitcher into throwing over twice, it's a free stolen base for a speedy runner. Pitchers have to be really smart about when they throw over and the catcher needs to help by throwing over to first if needed.

He's faster than Estrada in theory, but his general attitude about taking the extra base can be summarized (at 4:18) here...

Pitchers need to institute occasional pitchouts on these. Clearly Acuna aggressively went first move, on a 1-2 count a pitchout seems like a no brainer and should give the catcher a real chance to throw him out.

1. Target Field would be a lot worse with a roof. I'll suffer through a few weeks of yuck weather for the great summers.
