Nice to pull that one out after the rough start from Houser and not much offense except for the Yelich HRs until the 9th.

Nice job by him putting the ball into the OF. I feared he was going to K.

Wiemer might be one of those weird examples where his MiLB track record has very little bearing on his MLB performance. He’s well over 100 PAs and still isn’t striking out anywhere near his minor league record.

I think the Brewers might have a budding star on their hands.

Let us hope.

Sure he is but he can't hit the ball hard and he can't keep up with FB anymore. Voit has at least looked the part against RHP this year. Winker just looks bad basically every time he doesn't get a walk.

Voit hasn't looked the part of anything. He's K'ing 35% of the time and hasn't shown any power either. Winker at least makes contact and gets on base as good as anybody in the lineup. And for a team that otherwise struggles to get on base...

Bottom line is we traded for Winker. Voit was a minor league free agent signing. Winker has more leeway.

For me, the fact he got the sac fly, and did what had to be done for the W says a lot about him. How many rookies could execute that?

His K-rate looks so bad because of his role. I guess I'm not making that clear enough but him having so many AB against LHP is making him look way worse than what he actually is.

We traded Wong (who looks very washed) for Winker so it isn't like we gave up anything valuable for him. We traded for Javy Guerra and he's already been on a new new for a couple of weeks now.

Not really considering he had a 31.5% K rate last year...

You can be as mad as you want about how they're using him. I'm just telling you like it is. Voit will be gone before Winker.

That very well may be true, but that doesn't make it good process by the Brewers but this is the org that signed Voit to be a weakside platoon guy despite having career reverse splits so we can't be too surprised at the poor process by the organization.

Statistics are more reliable and objective than the eye test. But you do you.

Very typically condescending of you.

Maybe a better idea to consider the entire context of the comment.

It seems to me that results are numbers too, and in many cases can be just as reliable, if not more so, than some of the advanced metrics. If nothing else, things that only consider batted ball events, thereby ignoring strikeouts, can really be misleading.

Lol. Like you haven't been any less typically condescending towards me. Please.

Results are numbers. But advanced metrics help clarify/put into context those results and what we can expect in terms of results in the future.

With Owen Miller performing like he currently is, including against LHP, I can't help but wonder if Brosseau should just be DFA'd at this point. Liability in the field and has been too mediocre against LHP since joining the Brewers

I am guessing you are under the assumption he doesn't have an option. He does have an option though.

I stand corrected. I would like to see a swap for Toro.

Yep, got it done and it wasn’t aberrant given his MLB performance thus far. His bat to ball skills seem vastly improved.

You call it a sac fly, but in my eyes all Weimer did was make the last out in the game. I give him a C-.

Well done Crew. Thank you Yelich and bullpen.

Hitting Winker and Voit in the 2-hole? CC has jokes. Please don’t do that tomorrow with Rea starting.
