DSL Crew Dos trailing the Dosgers Mega 2-0 in the 5th. Are we really going to lose to the Dodgers for the 8th consecutive game?

If there is a baseball gahhhhd, hear my prayer of a comeback walk-off breaking the hearts of the young Dodgers. We've had enough.

High-A Wisconsin aims for a 2-0 series lead at Quad Cities, with RHP Stiven Cruz (7.24 ERA, 1.76 WHIP, 7.4 K/9 in 51 IP) still looking for his top form. CF Joe Gray Jr. has hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games.

Low-A Carolina has lost 5 of 6 games and sends out RHP Will Rudy (3.24 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 9.3 K/9 in 41.2 IP) at Down East tonight. 19-year old SS Gregory Barrios leads the team in hits (57), is tied for first in doubles (10) and triples (3) and has only grounded into one double play.

A win for AAA Nashville would double their series lead at Memphis. RHP Janson Junk (3.93 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 5.4 K/9 in 68.2 IP) gets the start, RF Tyrone Taylor makes his first rehab start and DH/C Alex Jackson has an 8-game hitting streak.

TRats leading 1-0 top of 7th with an Ernesto Martinez single plating Je’von Ward after he had doubled.

Carolina and both DSL squads lose with just one run scored each.

Yophery Rodriguez (2-4, 2B) and Filippo Di Turi (2-4) with the lone multi hit games.

Eric Prado threw a scoreless DSL frame dropping his ERA to 1.35 over 13.1 IP with 13 K | 3 BB so far for the 17 year old.

Nashville currently up 2-1 bottom 5th.

Frelick 1-2 so far, Hiura 2-2, Cam Devanney bomb and Tyrone Taylor assist from RF to 3B (WHAT?!?!?) are the box highlights so far.

Biloxi up 4-3 bottom of 6th.

Tyler Black triple and two RBI the big news while Chourio (1-2, BB) and Ethan Murray (0-0, 2 BB) have each reached twice.

Does anyone think there's a good reason, with us in a playoff race and absolutely desperate for hitting, why Black shouldn't be called up to the majors directly from AA?

Hit tool is ready and as ready as it'll ever get. I get the Brewers don't typically do that, but I think this is a unique player and situation. He'd probably put up at minimum a .380 OBP, which would be the best on the team.

Let's GO, Cam! That's the way! Devanney is absolutely maximizing his opportunities amongst a dense infield picture at Nashville. He continues to showcase 2022 was no fluke as he furthers from the early season injury. Let's GO!

2-for-3, 2 R, 4 RBI, 2 HR batting from the 9-Hole.

Sounds win 5-1

@Brewcrew82Uribe is getting better and better every time out. While Vieira has pitched his way out of contention with a horrendous June, Uribe and Andrews continue to make their respective cases for 'at the ready' status:

I'm ready for it. That's for sure.

Interesting note:

RHP Alexander Cornielle pitched 2 1/3 frames as a bullpen arm 🧐

Goodness gracious:

2 3-baggers for Black? The bat is so so choice. To answer your question @Brewcrew82: Yes. He 'could' make the jump to MLB as a bat. It is that advanced. He is already an MLB caliber bat. The power to boot. The threat on the paths. I don't see the Brewers doing it - as you note, historically it just isn't something they do. And, I personally see them like the Packers treated the ILB position until Campbell and Walker: they really don't appear to invest capital or draft-ability into 1B or the DH (or, heck 3B). But, he could absolutely make the jump. I personally think he'd hit the ground running. He's at a point right now where every AB has mojo. Every out is hit very hard. He's on another level than his teammates.

How about RHP Robbie Baker giving up another June long ball? Yeesh.

How about LHP Luis Amaya K'ng the side for the Hold in the 8th in his debut?!? 1 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K. Fantastic stuff!

Don't go watch his last batter. 3-2 count. Cornielle throws a FB a bit up and in. The hitter very clearly swung but played if off like a check swing and it was ruled a walk. I was absolutely speechless watching it happen.

For those interested in watching one of the worst check swing calls I have ever seen, it is right at 3:00:00 in the Timber Rattlers broadcast today.

I keep watching it and I cannot get over how both umps said it wasn't a swing.

He wouldn't help versus lefties at all. His splits are pretty stark.

Wow, stark indeed…

RHP: 207 PA of 290/456/581
LHP: 62 PA of 212/339/308

But, just because LHP splits in particular are small sample size theatre by physiology, here is last year…

RHP: 201 PA of 273/398/412
LHP: 82 PA of 303/427/455

I think Hiura, Frelick and trade deadline acquisition(s) will get first crack at solving the offense’s WOAHs, but barring how that all plays out I wouldn’t be surprised to see Black sometime in Aug/Sep, even if only as a DH vs RHP.

Will be interesting to see if they maybe start giving him some innings at 1B.
