Will be incorporated into Sunday AM's Link Report:

Final: DSL Brewers #1 Squad 8, DSL Guardians Red 7

Box Score / Game Log

If you click for the linescore, the first two innings of the game as well as the final three innings were all scoreless. So you'll want to check the game log for those middle four innings. The 4th inning sure was frustrating - the Cleveland club scored four runs, all with two outs, while Team Uno had runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out and did not score.

Four runs for the good guys in the 5th without an XBH. The final run of the game was unearned (but the Crew will take it), scoring on a fielder's choice.

Milwaukee's baserunners were 6-for-8 on the positive side.

Corner OF's Brian Sanchez and Pedro Tovar had matching three-hit days, including a double for each. Sanchez has only played in half of DSL 1's 24 games, but has raked throughout, now at .395/.529/.579 for a ridiculous 1.108 OPS through 51 plate appearances. Sanchez turned 19 four days ago.

Tovar, a LH Venezuelan bat like Sanchez, only turned 17 just two weeks ago.

Great lesson from the coaches here - you walk only one combined (plus one HBP), and you can win games despite allowing nine hits (two doubles). Ten K's for the four arms. Three are true rookies, RH closer Ramon Perez (three saves) will be 23 in October. He was a $10,000 sign last summer.

Misiorowski dominated in the futures game. Unbelievable stuff. Multiple 102 mph heaters and a slider he threw for strikes. 3 Ks and a jam shot flare single.

I'm tellin y'all. By this time next year, there's a very real possibility the Brewers have the #1 pitching prospect in baseball. Though, Skenes might challenge for that.

Was really looking forward to tuning in to the Futures game today...

It's only on Peacock?! Thanks for nothing, Rob!

Is it on today? I see it's scheduled for the MLB network tomorrow.

Kind of weird the game was on Peacock, I can't imagine a ton of people were able to watch it. I shared this on Twitter for those interested, all 18 of Misiorowski's pitches in 55 seconds. Just flat out ridiculous. I agree with the above comment that he and Skenes might be the best pitching prospects in all of baseball at this time next year, if not sooner.

On one hand I see his stuff and think the sky is the limit. On the other I see his delivery and don't really see command. Skenes looks like Prior on the mound compared to Miso.

Translated ESPN article:

Venezuelan prospect Jackson Chourio of Milwaukee Brewers has less pressure and more fun

SEATTLE -- Little by little, Jackson Chourio is adjusting to constantly being the center of attention and not letting that become a source of pressure and stress.

Since being signed to by the Milwaukee Brewers in January 2021 for a $1.8 million bonus, the Venezuelan super-prospect has been under a microscope in the baseball industry, which for a moment made him forget how fun the game can be.

"At first I was more into it [pressured to meet expectations], but lately I'm calmer, more relaxed, not giving so much mind to that, and most of all, enjoying the moment," Chourio said Saturday at the Major League Baseball Future All-Star Game at T-Mobile Stadium for the Seattle Mariners.

"Enjoy the moment, without thinking about anything else," added Chourio, who went 0-for-4 in the National League's 5-0 win over the American League.

Chourio, 19, is baseball's number one prospect among players who haven't made their major league debuts. A shortstop turned full-time outfielder, Chourio is batting .249 but has 25 extra-base hits, 23 steals and 50 RBIs in 71 games at the Double-A level, typically played by older players.

"It's been a big challenge the game in Double-A. Every day you face pitchers who seem to have been pulled out of the big leagues. The competition has a better plan against you and that forces you to be more prepared to make adjustments," he said.

"Regardless of the numbers, I think I'm a much better player now than when the year started," he said.

Standing out above the rest has been normal for Chourio, who last year hit .288 with 30 doubles, 20 home runs, 16 steals and 75 RBIs at three levels (including a brief stint in AA) at 18 years old. In 2022, he also participated in his first Future All-Star Game, at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

"It's exciting to be here again and share with all these future stars. It's an experience you don't have every day," Chourio said.

After enjoying the lavish atmosphere of Major League Baseball for a day, Chourio will report to the Biloxi Shuckers with the same attitude he adopted since the spring.

"I'm going to keep having fun to finish strong. To do my best to make things go positive," he said.
