I have watched INF Luke Adams all year. AND, for some inexplicable reason, I only just realized that over-pronounced leg kick yesterday. 🤣

Call me Gramps. I deserve it.

One thing is absolutely certain at this juncture: the Brewers have a ridiculously extensive pool of young talented infield depth. Who rises to the top of said talent pool is one of the more interesting ongoing storylines we will be tracking over the next 3-4 years. Sooooooo many different options from the DSL up to Low-A Carolina - all four teams have intrigue.

Dude's a really good baseball player. He's re-figuring things out at the dish after a very slow start. Hopefully, he can tap into some of that XBH power. BUT, I said it this past week, one thing is certain: he is the most consistent infielder defensively on the entire Mudcats roster. He makes it look effortless. Everything is smooth. He is the pocket knife for Estevez and his staff - plug and play in any location.

High-A Wisconsin can go up 2-0 in their series at Dayton with a win tonight. RHP Cameron Wagoner (7.21 ERA, 1.74 WHIP, 6.5 K/9 in 63.2 IP) makes his 17th start. 3B Ben Metzinger is 8-for-19 with 4 XBHs and 8 RBIs in his 5-game hitting streak.

AA Biloxi can double their series lead at Montgomery with a win tonight, with RHP James Meeker (2.74 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 9.5 K/9 in 49.1 IP) making his 5th start (21st appearance). SS Freddy Zamora is back in the lineup for the first time since leaving Saturday’s game early.

It’s time for AAA Nashville to snap its 4-game losing streak, with RHP Caleb Boushley (4.61 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 7.2 K/9 in 84 IP) taking the mound at home against Jacksonville. DH/INF Abraham Toro has had 3 straight multi-hit games and LF Skye Bolt returns after last playing 10 days ago.

Hey now! Just finished watching the Mudcats tilt. Whew what a way to get the evening going. AND, I will again point out: 1B/DH Jesus Chirinos just hit his 2nd long ball in 2 games. AND, he is now 8 days from his birthday. This is an eerily similar development to 2022. I don't know what it is about him and his B-Day but last year this type of run led to a really solid offensive output through the summer and then throughout his Winter League.

The T-Rats score first here early off a OF Hendry Mendez infield single past 2B scoring Bob Moore from 3B (liner single to RF in the lead-off). Now DH Darrien Miller takes a free pass and we have the bases juiced with one down.

Well, Metzinger K'd on a ball in the dirt. Then the game went black while OF Je'Von Ward got out somehow. LOL. The T-Rats strand the bases full. 1-0 and we'll see what version of RHP Cameron Wagoner we are working with tonight 😬

A really quality first inning from RHP Cameron Wagoner. He gives up a liner oppo single to LF with two down but he gets his first and fourth batters on beautiful hammer curves to open and close the inning. 1-0 and we are into the second frame. Those were two gorgeous pitches.

OF Terence Doston has to be the most understated player in the system. And, yet, nearly every time he plays the game he makes an impact. It's a really wild storyline in the system. He just legged out a double on a liner to RF - a straight hustle play. He then smartly gets back to 2B after Bob Moore had a liner of his own snagged by the 2B. He's just an understated and underrated quality rotational outfielder.

Oh HEY, just a lead-off liner to CF that INF Tyler Black stretches into a ridiculous double. Give the man another stolen base. Absurd wheels on Mr. Beef. Goodness, I love this man's game. Stupid good. He then plays a sweeeeet game of cat-and-mouse with a Chourio grounder toward the hole making it back to 2B while helping Chourio reach 1B safely. Glorious baseball player.

Two SB attempts on Darrien Miller. Two stolen bases. His ball just takes way too long to get to 2B. It hangs. Love the young man. Love the player. It's a glaring weakness and I just don't know if it will ever get better.

Wagoner's off-speed stuff is ridiculously good early. Lots of dip. He is getting many swings and many misses. He strands another runner at 2B on what looked like a really nice dip out of the zone change-up. 2-0 T-Rats. 3rd frame approaches.

Jeferson Quero walks after seeing a 1-2 count. Bases juiced. Nobody down. First frame at Montgomery. Wes Clarke will try to knock across some runs.

Well, I am guessing the SHuckers took advantage of that first inning. LOL. I went out to do farm chores. I come back and it's 7-1. Time to go review.

OF Je'Von Ward stays red hot. Solo jack to deep left center. 5-0 T-Rats. This is the best. Wagoner has looked all season. Refreshing! His off-speed stuff is very very good today.
4 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 6 K. Glorious. Keep at it, young man!

Mistakes matter. Two OF miscues on routine scoop and throws by both tthe Biscuits RF and LF'ers gave the Shuckers extra bases in the first. Both runners scored on the ensuing AB's (Collins and Zamora).

Meanwhile, the T-Rats are pouring it on here in the fifth. A Doston HBP and SB led to a Bob Moore rbi double down the RF line. DH Matt Wood knocked Moore in with a double deep to the right field wall. . 7-0. Let's go!
