3 months might not be enough time...but I think they have a better shot at fixing him than Cleveland does at fixing Thor

They somehow resurrected Heyward and turned the back the clock on JD Martinez. Definitely wouldn't put it past them.

Fair point. I'll note I did say it "might" not be enough time. Both those guys I believe they got in the off-season so they had tons of time to make adjustments...also easier to work on stuff in spring when it doesn't really count yet. Rosario is gonna be playing for the dodgers probably on Friday.

I honestly cannot believe the turn arounds on those 2 though. It's a far far safer bet to assume everything the dodgers do is exceptionally smart, their development staff is miles ahead of every team in every way...except bullpen development

For some background on this: Amed's defensive numbers really tanked this year with the rule change against shifting and CLE finally started removing Amed late in games for a better defender over the past week. Unlike the past few years Amed's bat is not making up for the limited D he provides at SS.

At this point there are already 3 better defensive SS on the CLE 26 man roster (Andres Gimenez, Gabrial Arias (mold of Carlos Correa) & Tyler Freeman). Another option made is MLB debut earlier this year in Brayan Rocchio (mold of Lindor) & he is in his 2nd year at AAA.  Over the past few years all of Arias, Freeman & Rocchio have been on multiple top 100 prospect lists.

This trade is a net zero impact on the payroll with the money LAD kicked in as Thor has a more expensive contract this year than Amed..  Since Amed was a FA after the season, CLE is utilizing the last few months to see which of the 3 (Arias, Freeman, Rocchio) is grabbing the position for going forward.

I find it interesting that LAD has traded for multiple guys this week (Kiki H & Amed) to help at SS that have major limitations playing SS defensively.

Its because their main target Adames is not available.  I am wondering if the Dodgers checked in on Anderson and found the price to be not to their liking.

LAD might well have preferred Adames or Tim Anderson & found the price tags to be unreachable, but they still walked onto the used car lot and drove away with an old Yugo & an old Pinto.    Both are far cries from what they wanted.

And unlike some old cars where parts can be mixed & matched, its a lot harder to Frankenstein a good SS from the parts of Kiki, Amed & M Rojas...

Seems like they could've done better is all I mean.  Rosario isn't great, I get it, but Syndergaard is completely worthless.

2 months of Rosario is worth next to nothing. The chance to maybe make Thor a competent pitcher again is better than cash or whatever nobody minor leaguer they could have got.
