DSL All Star tilt features the Brewers very own INF Filippo Di Turri getting the starting nod for the NL at 3B.

Wunderbar!

In the 6th inning, NL down 2-3. Di Turi was 0-1 with very costly error in the first that eventually lead to all 3 runs.

Yophery came in during the 5th and did Yophery things. He is 1-1 with a RBI single. Current only two Brewers I have seen enter the game.

Outfield assist for Rodriguez in the 5th, at second base from CF, stretching a single nixed.

Going through DSL and AZ stats this season and I finally found a way to describe Jackson Chourio's brother Jaison who is with the AZ Guardians (18 years old). He is basically Dylan O'Rae at the plate if O'Rae hit doubles. Both are hitting are walking 21% both K in the 14-18%. range, both hitting .356 to .368. OBP's are around .500. Both have 36 runs created and wRC+s of 150-160. Only real difference at the plate between the two is Jaison's .15iso to Dylans .05 iso. Kind of fun to see Chourio's Bros success and how different they are as players. If the power comes to Jaison with his hit tool, plate discipline, obp skills... what out! He is actually bigger than Jackson as well.

What I am saying is, Brewers need to find a way to steal him from the Guardians! He is going to be darn good.

The High-A Timber Rattlers start the series finale at home against Cedar Rapids now, seeking a win to clinch a 4-2 series victory. RHP Edwin Jimenez (4.37 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 8.7 K/9 in 78.1 IP) makes his 11th start (18th appearance). 1B Ernesto Martinez looks to finish July (1.027 OPS this month) on a fittingly positive note.

A win in today’s series finale in Norfolk would give AAA Nashville a 4-2 series win. RHP Jason Alexander needs a bounce back outing after a tough start on Tuesday.

Rattlers up 3-0  with a Jose Acosta bomb scoring Darrien Miller and Ben Metzinger, who had each singled prior.

Edwin Jimenez with five hitless scoreless frames and 3 BB | 7 K.

Edwin with another 1-2-3 inning and two more punch outs.

Currently at 74 pitches per the box. Checking his game logs he has gone six IP twice, but it does not look like he has come back out for a 7th inning yet this year.

Man, if the T-Rats can hold on here that's a huge series result against a very tough High-A squad in Cedar Rapids. They will have gained 2 games and remain just 2 back of these same first place Kernels. Big result if they can hold on.

And it really doesn't matter their relationship to the Kernels in the standing because the Kernels won the 1st half. As long as Wisconsin remains in 2nd place behind the Kernels, they will be the 2nd half representative for their division in the playoffs.

My guess is manager Joe Ayrault will give Jimenez the start of the 7th and they'll play it by ear. He doesn't really pitch into the 90's as of yet. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if they give him an opportunity to shut down that frame and then give it to the bullpen regardless of the results. Go, say, RHP Shane Smith with the chance to close it out and strut his nasty stuff.

T-Rats strand men on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the 6th - Wood fly out to straightaway CF. Martinez Jr. grounds out to 1B - chopper on a first pitch curveball.

Jimenez will look to keep his good things going in the 7th frame.

1-2-3 7th for Jimenez. The thing is still a thing. Let's add some insurance runs, men! 4-0 T-Rats. Nice smooth play by Bob Moore at SS to take the deep hopper and fire an accurate dart to 1B.

Awwwwwww shucks! There it goes. A well hit roped single to LF. The No-Hit bid ends with one down in the 8th frame. Heck of a game for Jimenez. Kudos to manager Joe Ayrault for giving him the shot at history. The crowd gives him an ovation as he leaves the game.

The final line reads 7 1/3, 1 H, 3 BB, 10 K, 0 R

Not too shabby. 😅

And, here comes RHP Shane Smith. Let's hope he keeps dealing and helps bring this one to the finish line.

T-Rats win 4-0 as RHP Shane Smith escapes a two out runners on the corners mini-jam. 3B Ben Metzinger will want both throws back to end the 9th frame. He was rescued by a Martinez Jr. super scoop on a side arm toss with plenty of time that bounced short the bag. This, one play after he made a diving stop and then threw from his knees short and wide of 1B as the Kernels Catcher ran down the 1B line. His arm, as I've said from Day 1 as a T-Rat, will likely continue to be his Achilles' Heel if he can't add more velocity. It just lacks that much needed pop and strength from that hot corner position. Time will tell.

Regardless, huge series for the T-Rats.
