I get that some of the guys playing on the line are backups, but they are still NFL players and should be expected to perform to some sort of minimum standard. When the RB is being met by linebackers as he's taking the ball, the line isn't doing even the bare minimum.

We aren't good but that is fine, I didn't really expect us to be. We were bad last year with Rodgers so I don't have high expectations based on how the defense has performed in spite of some talent. But their WRs are either bad or incredibly raw, they are paying a franchise money to a LT whose career is over...there is just a lot going wrong.

I felt going in this would take a year or two to hit reset.

The pass rush is not getting home, and with no Jaire, it needs to get home.

Not to mention we probably have the worst set of safeties in the NFL.

Matt LaPorta is pretty good

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

No Douglas either.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Branch would have been a day one starter for this defense.

Van Ness maybe decent someday but I would much rather have Branch.

We could've had both... Lions drafted Branch with the 2nd round pick we traded to them.

The lions can basically convert whatever they want.  They’re in the process of taking out decades of frustration, and I can’t even begrudge them this.  They should run this thing up.  Maybe the Packers will come to terms with exactly where they are as a franchise.

And I don’t mean to say I expected a good team.  I thought 8 wins is about as good as we could possibly expect, as in the high end of our outcomes.  But this team needs to accept they aren’t as strong in places they seem to think aren’t problems.

Ugh.... That makes it 10 times worse
