Any chance we could move Quero in a package for a young star? He is a top 30 prospect and blocked by Contreras. If we package Quero, Weimer, and another prospect or 2 could we find a player like we got in Yelich was? 1 problem is that alot of teams have a good catcher. If we trade Burnes or Williams we could keep the farm strong and improve the big league club. Maybe just flip him for another top30ish prospect that isn't a catcher. Probably we are better served waiting until the trade deadline or next year to worry about flipping Quero.

Names: Luis Robert, Dylan Cease, Randy Arozeana (other Rays under the radar pieces) Nolan Gorman, Red infielder (not India), Ceddeanne Rafeala, Jace Jung (+more), Marlins, Yankees package ???. Bobby Witt.

I don't expect there to be much information until around the 3rd of December when the Winter meetings start in Nashville.  Everything right now is just speculation with very little substance attached to it.

I feel like the only person who believes a Donaldson reunion may happen. Cheap flier looking for homers without wrecking defense.

Might depend on whether Murphy believes in his ability to contribute and not screw up clubhouse chemistry.

I am with you on this.  I think the Brewers will mostly try to run it back again to start the year and if they are out of contention come July, then the big name trades will happen and prospects will be called up. Donaldson and Santana may still be possibilities to return at the corners.

With the Dodgers moving Mookie to 2B I feel like Michael Busch and Miguel Vargas are available. Would Joey Weimer for Miguel Vargas work we turn OF surplus into a high potential bat who could play 1B/2B/3B. Vargas has a rough start but had a hand injury and wasn't allowed to swing in Spring Training big bounce back potential.

I read that the Cubs would possibly give up Morel for Glasnow. If that is the case I would love to go after Brandon Lowe. A power hitting 2B that is affordable for up to 3 years or can dump him if he doesn't work. Decent defense and would be relatively cheap on the prospect value if the Ray's are looking to dump some payroll, maybe like Wilson and a throw in prospect or AAAA type player (Miller).

Seems like Cubs are actively shopping Morel at this point. His name has come up a bunch this offseason.

Right defensively he only fits full time into 2B and the Cubs are set with Hoerner. He has shown great tools and it would be wise of the Cubs to try and sell high, Glasnow for Morel and another prospect would be a decent get for Tampa if Morel doesn't go on the Baez track and chase everything.

I guess the Astros probably have an eye on Garrett Mitchell:

Astros Open To Adding Lefty-Hitting Outfielder

From what I remember the Astros farm system is extremely weak on top, I am sure we could get a couple pieces for him however. It looks like the have a bunch of solid power speed combo guys whose hit tool is in question and solid pitching that just don't have big arms. My ask for Mitchell would probably be Luis Baez (young upside OF), P Rhett Kouba (low ceiling high floor starting/multi inning relief prospect), P Alimber Santa (young good arm, still a long way away). There isn't one piece that screams out to me but these 3 would offer upside in Baez and Santa and some reliablity in Kouba. If he was out most of the year Luis Garcia would be a pretty good start for Mitchell.

you dont trade a 50 piece for a 30/15/5 - Thats what you are doing.

Zero reason to rush this.

Agree but Baez might be a 45, the other 2 probably 40's. You are right though we should get 1 good piece for Mitchell or a different OF piece.

Would Perkins be an option here? I would prefer to keep Perkins in AAA if possible in case there were injuries like last year, however with Yelich, Chourio, Frelick, Mitchell, Weimer and then guys like Bauers, Miller, Black who could be on the roster on play some OF if needed. Do Perkins really get a shot this year even if we trade 1 of Weimer or Mitchell. If we could get something interesting I could see Perkins being a trade option, he showed gold glove caliber defense and the ability to put together good at bats. His 1.2 WAR in 143 ab's would make him a valuable everyday player. Could even get a bit of a bidding war going on a high end 4th OF that might not need to play this year for us.

Where are we on the Rays excess IF depth they have Diaz, Lowe, Paredes, Cabarello, Walls, Mead, Caminero, Aranda, Basabe. I feel like most thought Paredes price would be to high, Diaz would as well. Lowe and Aranda could be solid bats to add that wouldn't cost huge prospect returns.

I know it is a pipedream but would  Quero, Weimer/Mitchell, Gasser, Henderson be an appropriate value for Caminero. I get it not happening just wondering.

Caminero is the closest thing to Jackson Chourio in terms of value.

So ask yourself this question, would you accept that offer for Chourio?
