Along with confirming the aforementioned promotion of Tyler Woessner to AAA Nashville (see above):

  • C Eric Haase placed on Taxi Squad, which appears to mean he's technically still on AAA Nashville's roster but is inactive (as the MLB club evaluates C Gary Sanchez's health status)
  • RHP Bryan Rivera promoted to ACL Brewers from DSL-Brewers2
  • RHP Enniel Cortez promoted to ACL Brewers from DSL-Brewers1
  • RHP Melvin Hernandez promoted to ACL Brewers from DSL-Brewers2
  • LHP Anthony Flores promoted to ACL Brewers from DSL-Brewers1
  • RHP Eric Prado promoted to ACL Brewers from DSL-Brewers1
  • LHP Bjorn Johnson activated by ACL Brewers

Nadal is in Arizona which means there will be at least a couple more official additions to the roster before May 4.

Do we know what is up with Alexander Vallecillo, Aldrin Gonzalez, and Wande Torres?  I expected these three to be in Carolina or Arizona by now.  I don't see them on any roster yet.

I have to think a few of them will be pitchers. That staff is pretty thin right now for complex league ball.

I could see a couple of Suarez, Smith, Quezada and Jesus Flores being in the next group announced.

Only sort of surprises so far seem to be Antony Gomez and Ishmael Yanez.

SS Demetrio Nadal assigned to ACL Brewers from DSL Brewers 2.

As I expected, here is the Nadal move as well as a pleasant surprise rehab assignment.
I still believe that there will be more moves on the pitching side in the coming days because not all of those pitchers currently on the roster are healthy.

For those that struggle to find info about the DSL like me, I spoke with Ben Badler about when the league is supposed to get underway this year.  He told me that even the teams themselves have not received the schedule for this season yet which is absolutely ridiculous.  However, the expectation is that the DSL campaign will begin on June 1 or June 3.

Which is extra ridiculous given the DSL website slider says it starts today.

Glad to see Wilken is making progress. I was hoping to see him in Biloxi on Tues 5/7 & Wed 5/8. Looks like I will have to enjoy Boeve instead.

- 3B Patrick Dorrian placed on AAA Nashville’s 7-day injured list retroactive to May 4
- 3B Ben Metzinger assigned to AAA Nashville from High-A Wisconsin

I don’t know who Nashville Manager Rick Sweet offended, but he’s down to 10 position players, including Metzinger and Nick Kahle (nice game DHing yesterday). Tough sledding.

Metzinger played for the T-Rats yesterday.  He went from being with the T-Rats Saturday, to being promoted to Biloxi and Nashville all in less than 24 hours?

They’re out of bodies and won’t push valued prospects they feel aren’t ready. Metzinger and Jose Acosta appear to be the organizational soldiers (rove where and when needed; bench most nights) this year.

Ok, I just checked, Metzinger was promoted from Wisconsin to Nashville. not Biloxi to Nashville.  That makes more sense, since he never was promoted to Biloxi.

A promotion AND an answer to the “Where’s Walling?” question. Terrific!
