When I think of devastating career altering Packers injuries, I think of Nick Collins, Terence Murphy, and now David Bakhtiari. Should I add Chad Clifton in there? All incredible talents. All suffering injury fates all too soon in their careers. Bakh is a Real One. I'm going to miss him and his fantastic personality. Another middle round Packer O-Lineman steal. I still remember the rookie Training Camp reports on Bakh. What a fantastic Packer.

None bigger than Sterling Sharpe.

OMG what?? We're keeping Jones??? Holy ****!!!!

It would appear so. They had been and continue to discuss a restructured deal. Rappoport is indicating it is almost across the finish line:

For the difference Jones makes when he's on the field, I guess they didn't want to take their chances with a rookie RB if Jones is hurt an extended period again. I'd heard they were really big on Saquon but I guess he was too expensive. The report I heard also said they were going after McKinney pretty hard.

Pack were also repeatedly in on Jonathan Taylor. I think the writing has been on the wall they wanted to upgrade Jones' stablemate. This does so in a BIG way. Jacobs is elite when healthy. Still has a lotta tread on the tires too. He is only 26 years old this year.

John Runyan Jr. signs a $30 Million deal ($17 Million guaranteed) with the Giants. Good for him.

Jacobs. Wow.

I'm guessing we want two reliable #1 types. Makes Love better to have a running game he can count on.

Jacobs was pretty bad last year but he was on a bad offense with a horrible QB. Maybe MLF will scheme better.

Bad offense. Bad O-Line. Classic Raiders drama. Injured most of the year. If he's healthy, he will be electric.

Guy was amazing in 2022. Raiders - as noted - were a cluster last year.

I liked Runyan, but that's a pretty sweet deal for him. Good for him. I wish him well - most of the time.

Wait, is the Vikings Plan B post-Cousins seriously Sam Darnold?!? Oh please football gods make it so!

One of my favorite ideas was the Vikings bringing in Darnold and Mac Jones to compete against one another. I guess only 1/2 correct.

Wow great two back combo. Now maybe draft a quick change of pace RB as well in there to spell the two RB 1s we have now. Awesome.

Love seemed best when he was off play action. We need a strong run game agreed.

So much for that 2-pronged attack. It was fun for 10 minutes, lol.

In all honesty, I'm 50/50 on this. Jones is banged up a lot and the wrong age for an NFL RB. It's always better to cut ties before the dive happens. But it's hard to ignore how much better they were with him on the field.

It's a weird move that could end up either looking like genius foresight or a huge mistake, not just for his production but what he meant to the team.

I'm shocked by this move, and a little hurt to be honest. Wish he could,ve been a Packer for life although that was highly unlikely anyway. Andrew Brandt says this will be a $12 million cap hit.

I have a hard time believing the organization is going to be happy with just Jacobs as the only significant RB on the team. Maybe they draft one second day but the RB draft class this year is pretty weak.

Not going to lie, this one stings.  I was hoping for Jones and Jacobs, 1-2 punch for a year or two.  I get it though, Jones is 29 and unfortunately he doesn't have much time left.  I was hoping Jacobs could take a majority of carries, especially early, and save him for the stretch run.  Oh well, it was fun in my head while it lasted!

Going to miss Jones and I wish him the best.

Very weird to see an ascending team with SB aspirations cut arguably its best offensive player.

Yeah. I am hoping there is more to this but short of signing Barkley (who is signing with Philly) I am not seeing it right now.
