I was under the impression Cleavinger was throwing 90-92. Interesting to see he was at 94 average last year, that definitely moves me a bit closer to the sign him side. I still think, I would like to see Hall, Gasser, and Ashby (after some AAA) get a legit shot before signing a vet.

Gotta wonder if there is more smoke to the fire with regards to Clevinger's off field issues - haven't heard of a team showing any interest.

I'd love to see a short term deal with Lorenzen with some incentives for innings pitched, he fell apart at end of season last year but can't ignore how Philly used him either... seemed like he was just not the same pitcher after the no hitter last year.

Isn’t Clevinger more of a fly ball pitcher now.  Obviously Montgermy is preferred.  But Lorenzern is probably that better fit.  Even if it costs two yrs.  Assuming the two yrs are below 10 million a piece.

Or he’s a clubhouse cancer.  And his talent doesn’t outweigh his attitude?  No clue.  You’d think if he would accept a one year deal.  The Yanks would swoop in already.

Could be both but considering that one of the accusations was that he threw used chewing tobacco at his own baby.... I'm guessing that factors in there too

Lorenzen are similar pitchers correct.  But he doesn’t have the baggage.  He’s probably preferred over him.  So until Lorenzen signs Clevinger is in limbo.  Maybe ?

"I'm not sure. It wasn't that many."

Trevor Bauer in response to Lindsey Hill asking how many times he hit her in the head while she was unconscious.

What is wrong with Montgomery? - With Snell taking essentially a 1/30 deal - Montgomery cant be looking at anything close to what he was originally asking....

Could be a lot of things, he probably has a couple teams interesting in a 1 year + option deal and Boris is just trying to max out the amount.

Montgomery unlike Snell and the other big FA this offseason has not had a QO put on him because he was traded midseason. That likely is what is deterring him from signing a short term deal because the QO if you aren't a superstar level player definitely hurts your market.

Montgomery didn't want to go to Boston because he "wants to win," according to one Boston Red Sox site.

So...hey, 4-0? Hopefully soon to be 5-0?

See ya in Milwaukee Jordan?

He signed with the giants at the end of spring training.

Remember what Yoda said:

Damn...I've had a lot going on. So...that it? Any other starters?

Greinke done? Rich Hill? Not many options left...guess Ashby, Gasser, C-Rod will have to get stretched out, get healthy and keep grinding...in that order.

Is there any Fa Starter looking for work think we could use another arm  especially if we might be getting innings from most starters

None that haven't been mentioned or accused of a DV(Urias).

I’d go Gasser-CRod-Ashby in that order.

They said weeks on Gasser, not months, so guessing he could rotation if needed by May. Ashby is far from being big-league ready sitting 92. CRod could rotation anytime, although it would be preferred to get him a couple of months of AAA starts first.

I am sure Wilson or Hudson could also make a spot start here or there and go 50-60 pitches if need be. Eventually with this 39 games in 41 days stretch we will need a 6th starter, hopefully that can be Gasser. Murph was talking him up a bunch in camp and it gave me the impression he would be the 6th man when needed.

Well...it doesn't sound like it can be. Even optimistically, if he's going to be out "multiple weeks," he's likely completely shut down. So then he'd have to start throwing again. Not like this is June and he's coming back middle of August. I'd guess he misses this stretch.

They'll likely have to trade for someone if they're going to continue to pitch well. I guess the best case would be the Pads struggling and maybe we could go get Cease.

The last I read on Greinke was that he intended to pitch this season.  I don't know what he's got left in the tank at this point.  But he's a smart pitcher and maybe he could have some success with Milwaukee with their defense.

Lets continue the cycle. He went back to KC, not he comes back to Milwaukee. Can't imagine he'd command a whole lot.

6M? Get ~130IP with a much better defense behind him. And the post-game interviews would be great. Remember the "what's your favorite thing about Milwaukee Zack?" And his answer, "I don't know, nobody's annoyed me yet."

That's how I remember it, probably not an exact quote.
