The guy we got in a trade, then immediately waived, gets a save for the Dodgers...

Dinelson Lamet tossed a clean ninth inning with two strikeouts to record the save against the Giants on Wednesday.

With Evan Phillips getting the day off after recording a save on Tuesday, the Dodgers went to Lamet in the ninth inning with a one-run lead against the Giants. He struck out two in a perfect inning for his first career save.

This isn't even the same season, what's the point? You could make a post about any player from a previous season that the Brewers didn't keep coming in and doing one good thing for another team...so?

To be fair, I think he's the first pitcher to ever record 1-2-3 ninth inning. It's quite the achievement for a professional baseball player.

Lamet really isn't worth tracking. Brewers waived him and he got claimed, Brewers never had to pay him a cent. He's been ordinary at best since then and honestly has mostly looked worse than ordinary.

Even had the Brewers kept him that season I think chances are pretty high he wouldn't have been back, certainly not in 2024. If he beats the odds and goes on to be an All Star I just don't think that there's any scenario where it would have happened for him in Milwaukee.
