Wowsers. Montgomery suffers a mini-collapse, conceding 5 runs to Biloxi in the bottom of the 8th inning, all with 2 outs: scoring via balk, error, wild pitch, 2-run error.

Goooooo Shuckers, now tied 7-7.

Root escaped!! Cooper Pratt saves the game for the second time in the inning, this time catching a line drive and doubling off the baserunner at 1st base, with the runner on 3rd not moving. Bayden Root then K'd the next batter. It's still 3-3 as they head to the 10th inning!

Too early to be really excited about Pratt’s future in Milwaukee?

Not too early. Kid's a gamer and a specimen.

Weak fly out, K, long fly out. Sounds fall 6-5.

That's two one-run losses we can pin on our defense so far tonight (Nashville, Wisconsin).

RHP Shane Smith delivers a 1-2-3 top of the 9th. Can Biloxi walk-off an improbable comeback victory?

Clarke, Murray and Martinez are due up.

RHP Blake Whiting closes out Carolina's own improbable comeback win, 6-4 in 10 innings.

Today's all about defenses reaping what they sow. In this case, Salem allowed 2 unearned runs on 2 errors, while Pratt saved the game with a stellar double play and Carolina committed no errors.

1B Ernesto Martinez walks off the 8-7 win with an RBI double, his 2nd hit and 3rd RBI of the game. Woo hoooooo!!!!!!

Really nice bounce back game for Wiems tonight. Let's hope he can keep that rolling. That lineup absolutely needs his bat and his best self.

While the results haven’t been there he’s absolutely smoking the ball this year. 9 of his 20 batted balls have EV over 100. He needs to start elevating them, but nice to see he’s making lots of loud contact even with the poor slash line.

14 K's for the T-Rats bats is officially not what the doctor prescribed. That's some ugly opening game medicine right there.

I like the look of the position player group in Appleton, 1 hit notwithstanding. I'll chalk it up to opening night jits.

Anyway, if tonight is any indication Pratt might be aiding their cause sooner rather than later.

3B Tyler Black gets his 2nd error of the game, which together have contributed to 3 earned runs off of Carlos F. Rodriguez. Oh look, the Sounds trail 6-3 in the bottom of the 7th inning. Maybe Black should be a 1B/OF?

In other organizational news of a defensive nature: Maybe those of us pooh-poohing Wes Clarke as a catcher were wrong. After all, he only had two passed balls tonite.

Wow. I sorely missed this.  Activity at all levels of the minors, and so many players to watch.

thank you JospehZarr and damuelle for the play by play summaries again. So looking forward to this minor league season!!

Is it ever?

I was excited about the future combination of Bitonti and Pratt on the left side as soon as the 6th rd was over! There's enough crap that happens that sucks(Quero separated🤷‍♂️ shoulder)...might as well be optimistic
