Mitchell, P CarRod, and OF CarRod for Fedde and John Brebbia

Sox get 2 guys for now with really good upside and CarRod #2 as an eventual 4th OF. Fedde and Brebbia is another upside reliever. He has a 5 era but his strikeouts are way up and his FIP and advanced stats point to a much better pitcher. Remember the White Sox are one of the worst fielding teams. Also has a team option for next year.

It's alot to give up for Fedde but needed to think we have a chance this year. We could always trade him in the offseason as well if need be.

Hate to break it to you, but if this is the type of package the Sox would be asking for from Arnold, the deal would have already been done. It’s going to take more than this to get Fedde.

Here's my guess as to what it would take to get Fedde from the Sox

  • One of Mitchell or Black (as the headliner)
  • One of Wichrowski or Henderson
  • Then, someone like Areinamo, Baez, Clarke or Guilarte

I hope I'm wrong and it doesn't take this much, but I'd be really shocked if it doesn't.

Imo, there's not much difference talent-wise between your guess, and the guess from the other poster. The way you make it seem, it would take a headliner better than Mitchell.

I guess it depends though on how you value Carlos Rodriguez (P) and Wichrowski/Henderson.  Personally, I value Wich and Henderson much more than C Rod at this point, but maybe the Sox would feel differently?  In my package scenario, if we gave up Black, Wichrowski and let's say Areinamo - that would be our #3, #5 and # 23 ranked prospects (according to the updated BA list that was posted last week).  The other poster had us giving up Mitchell (obviously a graduated prospect at this point), our #17 ranked prospect (C Rod the pitcher), and an unranked prospect in C Rod (the hitter).  So, I'll stand behind my prospect package as being quite a bit more prospect/talent laden than the one being offered up by the other poster.  But, obviously all of this is very subjective to the team's value on these guy that you are trying to work out a trade with.

Let the Cards pay for Fedde.

So the Cards can pay for Fedde, who would slot nicely into this rotation,  but you remained obsessed with Bobby Miller, who LAD is very unlikely to trade.....smh

Don’t wanna pay Mitchell/CRod/plus for Fede.   That was the extent of my post in this thread ..

If this is right, I hope we don't do it, really hope we don't do it.

I'm just not on board with Fedde given this is the only season he has been anything worth considering.

He spent last year overseas, and maybe players haven't quite got him figured out yet.  I just don't trust him as our big piece acquisition.

According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, the St. Louis Cardinals are making a strong push to acquire RHP Erick Fedde.

Heyman reports that there is “nothing definitive but some momentum there.” Fedde has been solid in his return to MLB action after one season in Korea, posting a 3.11 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 108:34 K:BB ratio in 121 2/3 innings. He would be a solid addition to the end of St. Louis’ rotation as they make a playoff push, but if the Cardinals were to acquire Fedde, that could push Andre Pallante back to the bullpen.

Well, you got your wish.  Now, I guess we hope that you're right and he fails miserably with the Cardinals for the next year and half!

Thing is though I don't think there's going to be a bigger piece acquisition. I don't think we'll do it (sounds like he's going to the Cardinals) but I doubt we'll have a bigger get than that.
