Meanwhile it appears Chad Patrick is dealing, 90 pitches thru 7 IP with 9K and 0 BB! And the Sounds offense has scored a run in each of the first 7 innings 😳.  12-2 Sounds with bases loaded in bottom of the 7th.

And good start to his AA debut for Logan Henderson.  Given a 4-0 lead in the first. Yes you read that right, Shuckers score 4 in the 1st (Campbell hit a 3 run HR).

Henderson gives up 2 hits in the first but worked around it. A walk in the second, but huge strike out on a 94 mph heater high in the zone ends the 2nd.

2 innings so far, granted very early, but Biloxi doesn’t score much that often let’s hope they keep it up.

No Wiemer. No Black. No Collins (shocked face emoji)? Hopefully no problem

Yup. Surprisingly no problems, who knew??

White flag in Nashville.  Old friend Hernan Perez on top pitch the bottom of the 8th for Louisville. and they score 2.  So at least a run scored in every inning. Wow that’s impressive.

And Carolina has a fast start with 2 run first, but Timmerman gives up a single, double and wild pitch and on a grounder it’s tied 2-2

Meanwhile in Montgomery, Warren homers to extend the lead to 5-0. On to the bottom of 4.

And Henderson is dealing. 65 pitches (season high), through 5 with only 4 hits and 1 walk, with 3K. Very nice start to his AA career. Still 5-0 Shuckers. I would suspect last inning for Henderson as he ramps up still.

Carolina still 2-2 in the 3rd.

Biloxi gives up a run in the 7th. Merkel cruised in the 6th, and stumbles in the 7th. Now Childers in.

While in Charleston, Mudcats are making some noise with single, triple (YRod), single, single. And it's 4-2!

Double and Triple on the ledger for Yophery tonight.

At his age and with his K rate declining, feel like you have to put him in the top 10 of the system at this point. He keeps this up and he'll be pushing top 100 very soon.

Fun little teenage top of the order Carolina has going with him, Pratt, and DiTuri.

Yeah that top 3 in the line up with DiTuri, Rodriguez and Pratt. If/When Baez comes back that is 4 teenagers with offensive potential. Remember that Baez is only 6 months older than Rodriguez.

Speed kills for the lineup as a double steal with Garcia swiping second, and Pratt takes home,  so it is 5-2 Cats now.

Biloxi still clinging to a 6-2 lead now in the 8th.

Yoho just flithy. 2 K's - working around a one out hit. But Ks the next two guys to keep in 6-2, and head to top of the 9th. FLipping back over to Mudcats who looks like they have a man on and looking for more....

Mudcats get an insurance run with a Yophery sac fly. Hit hard to RF again, just under it a little otherwise would have been XBH #3. DiTuri caught stealing, so it is 7-2 in Charleston, with B. Rodriguez trying to hold on. You would think Austin or Rivero in later if the lead holds?

In Montgomery, a sac fly by EMJ gets another run in. 4 walks by Evan Reifert (former Brewer farmhand), and bases loaded, with only 1 out.

I think if you added 10ft to every batted ball he's had this year that he'd have double digit HR on the year instead of the 4 he currently has. Lots of warning track/off the wall hits from him this season.

Yoho needed 21 pitches. gets 4 K. Locks down the final 2 innings. He looks so good. Final Shuckers win 7-2. A series win, wow!!

And B. Rodriguez went out for his 3rd inning of relief, with a 1-2-3. It is ninth inning time in Charleston.

It's another classic RHP Jesion Pena show going on in the 9th frame. 1 H, 2 BB, 1 WP, 1 ER. He leaves with the bases juiced and only grabbing one out via K. Pitching a grand total of 1/3 IP. Stanley has brought on RHP Christofher Carrasco to try his best to eliminate this threat.

Yikes.

I don’t see why Yoho needs to make another appearance in AA. Send him to AAA.

Been saying it for near two months: None of these Levels matter to Yoho. He is an MLB reliever yesterday. Just an absolute stud with filthy stuff.

The four full-season affiliates are now a combined 25 games over 0.500. Nice bounce back series for the Shuckers, Muddies and T-Rats both 15 games over and in first place. Sounds now 5 games over trailing Omaha by a mere 9.5 G 😁.

Full-season 25 games over .500 - YES

A and A+ both 15 games over .500 and in 1st - OH HECK YES

AAA 5 games over and 9.5 G back - YES......ughhh

Mental math realizing this means AA is 10 games under .500 - oh no

Fillipo Di Turi staying hot in Carolina going 2 for 3 with a double and walk (and caught stealing). Hey we can’t all be perfect.

Luke Adams reaches all five times with a single and four walks. Ok, maybe we can be sometimes.

Dylan O’Rae has stolen his 30th base of the season. It’s June 9th.

He needs to weight train with Turang in the offseason

Thoughts for Sunday

- Nice to see the top starting and reliever prospects who pitched today starring for Biloxi. Henderson got his time in AA off on the right foot and Yoho just kept doing Yoho things.

- I keep hoping that whatever the Brewers saw to initially promote Brailin Rodriguez to Carolina at 18 years old pre-injury is still there. Hopefully tonight is a sign things are moving in that direction.

- I'm not ready to go there myself, but if you told me you thought the top 3 in Carolina's lineup were among the top 5 prospects in the Brewers system, I wouldn't fight you too much on it.

- I have no idea how his success would translate to the big leagues, but Chad Patrick sure has been making his case to crack the Brewers' staff at some point.

I mused about this last week, that Yoho may wind up being the answer to the "We need to add a bullpen arm" hue & cry that we seem to hear every deadline. Plus he's 24. Hard to imagine what more he needs to prove. I see they've been giving him outings of more than one inning. Perhaps thinking about using him in an extended 'closer for the starter' role we sometimes saw from Milner in the 5th-6th innings?

Betcha his name will come up in trade talks in the weeks to come. JUST SAY NO.

I personally appreciate his subtle base running nod and fist bump to maligned (El) Juan Baez. That's a next level savvy vet move for such a cagey young man!
