Skubal has pitched really well but really the defense has saved a few runs too. The diving catch and now the homer robbery.

The catch by Greene on Monasterio was not a robbery in my book.

He was camped under it and caught it without jumping.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I guess it depends on your definition of 'quality'.

In the role he was asked to fill last year he was a godsend. For obvious reasons he's been asked to fill a different one this year & IMO is miscast (through no fault of the organization, just not a lot of options). Despite that I believe he's more-or-less held his own. Today, yeah, he was poor.

He did a great job last season in a role that was more suited to his abilities

I agree that he is starting this year because of an unimaginable # of injuries

He is being exposed for what he was prior to the anomaly of last season

Frelick has been terrible lately, he swung and hit a pitch a foot out of the strike zone.  No plate discipline at all.

Agree with all except last year being an anomaly. It might've been. Or it might've been simply a case of him being used in the role most appropriate for him. We really don't know. Still hoping (against hope, maybe) that he can return to that role.

It's tough to get a rhythm going when you don't get regular trips to the plate, so let's throw a crumb or two at Monasterio today for a few really good ABs. And Chourio.

Frelick certainly has some things to figure out re consistency from at-bat to at-bat. I expected more from him these last couple months but let's not forget he was still awaiting his MLB debut at this time last year. Some never figure it out but he's nowhere near there yet. Turang, on occasion, gets balls he can pull. It's due mostly to his approach of using the entire diamond. If Sal wants to occasionally get pitches he can unload on, he needs to understand the same type of approach will give him the best chance at that.

And three more difficult pitching match ups coming.

Yep....hopefully we can avoid the big inning and win some close ones.

They have really solid front 3 to their starters but appear to have trouble scoring many runs at times.

Other times they light up the scoreboard.

Wildly inconsistent scoring.

Does that inconsistency scoring runs sound like the team we all know and love?

The Brewers hopefully can get better results vs these 3 arms than they did in Philly.

it be nice that the Crew has that one starter that can make other teams worry about facing.
