...so it must be true. I figure this is as good a place as any to put this, but it appears that a member of the Brewers organization lived a double life as a hired assassin. The earlier reports were that she was a Chicago native, but the Daily Mail apparently has more details:

Quote

Aimee Betro, 44, flew over from her native Milwaukee to kill boutique clothing store owner Sikander Ali on the orders of rival Mohammed Aslam, 56, and his son Mohammed Nazir, 30.

A trial in the UK heard how the hitwoman, who worked as an administrator for the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team, disguised herself in a hijab before trying to gun Ali down outside a house in Acocks Green, Birmingham on September 7, 2019.

She fled the scene when her gun jammed, but later returned in a taxi and fired three shots at the property before texting their principal target - Mr Ali's father Aslat Mahamud: 'Stop playing hide and seek' and 'Where are you hiding?'.

Betro - who studied early childhood education at a local college in Milwaukee - flew back to the US two days after the failed contract killing and today West Midlands Police said efforts to find her 'continue'. There is no suggestion Betro stands accused of any other attempted hits.

A wild story, and certainly not what any organization wants to deal with. The PR department just got a day or two more of work added to their list...

With all of the fake/politically biased "news" out there today(they ALL do it), who knows if it's true or not. In today's messed up world, it definitely wouldn't surprise me, though.

The whole thing just feels surreal to me. I actually know Aimee from all the time she spent in Milwaukee supporting the local DJ scene. I can tell you one thing... If you were to ask me which of my friends would become an international assassin, the LAST person I would think of would be Aimee.

Of course, you never REALLY know a person and I haven't in person since she left Milwaukee. But she's commented and liked things of mine on Facebook and vice versa on occasion and nothing struck me as being odd. I think the last time we messaged directly was back in 2017, well before all this allegedly started.

I really hope there's some sort of explanation for this, because the thought of this being real is sort of breaking my brain.

Yes, this story is off-the-rails crazy.

The fact that she was hired by people in the UK makes it seem like she has a reputation and has been doing it awhile.  How would they have ever found her if that wasn't the case?

But reading the story makes it sound like she was either new at this or just completely incompetent.  The really insane part is going to the guy's house by taxi and then firing off a few rounds at it.  "Hey, just leave the meter running, I'll be right back after I shoot up this guy's house."  That's as messed up as it gets.

I'm pretty confident she wasn't some sort of hitman for hire that these people seemed to stumble upon. If I had to guess, I would say she was coerced or manipulated somehow into doing this. (And this is assuming that she's actually the person who had their gun jam and/or came back later and fired shots into the house).

Well, that confirms it then! It's always the last one you'd suspect! 😅

The internet: helping weirdos find one another for decades now.

As a contract killing I don’t  think it could have gone any worse. 1. She didn’t  use a fake name apparently or have a phony passport because they know when she arrived and left the UK.  2. Rented a car which requires an ID which gets scanned and a credit card, plus the rental office almost assuredly has security cameras filming everyone who comes in. 3.) That the gun jammed when it was first attempted to be shot means the person didn’t bother to check it before pulling the trigger (not to mention one would assume a contract killer would use their own reliable weapons to avoid that very scenario). 4.) Went to a McDonald’s nearby after failing to complete the killing. Again, she would absolutely be filmed which would place her nearby the scene at the time in question. Finally she shipped guns to Europe and apparently didn’t bother to use a fake name or proxy either.

Really it sounds like a couple of idiots got swindled out of paying for a free trip to the UK and the American was so dumb to commit a half dozen felonies and not even use a fake name

For those that are not old enough to know what tabloids are...

There was a time when real news was compiled and written on tree pulp.  We called them newspapers.

Then we gathered all the fake news and wrote that on colorful tree pulp for the amusement of people to read while in the grocery store lines.  We called them tabloids.

Separating the two made it easier to distinguish the gullible people from the rest of us.

Today, both real and fake news are mushed together and broadcast on social media. And it turns out that now we are all gullible. 😉

Crazy story. The more details I read the more obvious it becomes she was not any kind of professional. They tracked her location from social media posts.
