8 strikeouts for Galindez through 3 innings, but the pitch count is super elevated already. Probably only has one more inning today.

Really quick 4th inning for Galindez, so I think we see him get a 5th inning.

Oh no Yophery. Very badly fooled and had a total wipeout on his swing to strikeout. Have to say that's the first time I've seen an "ankle breaker" in baseball.

KC Hunt dealing with 7 K | 1 H | 1 BB through five scoreless.

Wisco got a pair of runs in the first on a Luke Adams double, Dylan O’Rae single, Jadher Areinamo double sequence.

The wacky DSL home run totals has got me thinking that maybe the new complex has favorable wind or something?

I don’t remember us ever having this many homers over a month down there, let alone a week.

Jose Anderson is 11/23 with 3 2Bs and 4 HRs.

Kevin Garcia is a 16 year old catcher that is 3/10 with 3 HRs.

What is going on?

6 dominant innings for KC Hunt. He did have a loud fly ball out in the 5th inning that is probably a HR at home, but outside of that the Whitecaps haven't threatened at all. Pitch count is in good shape, but have to wonder if he's done for the day because this is the deepest he's gone all season.

Muddies 0-0 through seven. Galindez went 4 with 8 strikeouts, followed by Maldonado for 2. Now Morris Austin is in to face the bottom of the order

Jesus Chirinos just hit an absolute bomb. The Whitecaps announcers are saying it's the longest HR they have ever seen hit in this ballpark.

Sounds like a former radio guy who has watched Whitecaps baseball for 31 years (seems like a local legend) says that's the longest HR he's seen in his 31 years watching Whitecaps baseball.

Woessner doing the crazy velo fluctuation thing again. Wasn't giving up much contact early in the start when he was 93 early in his outing. He's been more 89-90 the last two innings and is really struggling.

Back to T-Rats.

The young core of Adams/ORae/Barrios/Areinamo/Lara (all 19-20 yo) are having a nice season.  They all have an OPS close to league average (.690) or higher with Lara the lowest at .647.

Per BRef WRC+ they rank of all players aged 18-21 yo in the MWL, # 6 (Adams), #10 (ORae), #14 (Barrios), #21 (Areinamo) and #24 (Lara), which is impressive for their ages. Nice core at high A.

I like this line-up tonight. I really like RHP K.C. Hunt. The biggest start of his young affiliated career. I have faith he'll throw an absolute gem - Hunt is built for this kind of thing. I firmly believe it. He has the tools. He absolutely knows he has the tools. He is filled with confidence and self-belief on that mound. I sincerely hope we see greatness tonight.

^^ BUMP😁

Shuckers just walked off the Smokies. 4-3. Ernesto Martinez legged out an infield grounder to SS to avoid a possible inning ending DP it would appear. That's now all 9 games between these two clubs decided by 2 runs or less. Crazy.
