I have watched him play and have looked at the numbers. An OPS around .650 for a RF (where the league average is .720) is pretty terrible.

And it isn’t like he makes up for any of it with stellar defense.

He is 5' 8, 180 pounds, do you expect him to hit 35 home runs a year?  Come on, seems you want video game stats.  I say average you say terrible and I disagree with terrible.

Frelick: .656 OPS

Taylor: .649 OPS

2024

I've seen quite a bit of Taylors' ABs this season due to the MLB networks' obsession with the Mets, and I know his numbers are modest. I was referring more to the RH/LH difference.

Jose Ramirez is 5'9" 190 so big and tall is not necessarily a requirement from a HR hitter.

But, I realize Frelick is not a HR hitter, and he should know that too. If he wants to play in MLB for long he is going to have to find a way to produce more than he has.

If you don't like "terrible" I can upgrade him to "not very good" . He is definitely not average for a major league right fielder.

OK, I was right, your comparing him to a Hall of Fame player. That Sal Frelick is not.

So don't compare Sal Frelick to Jose Altuve either.

I agree. Sal Frelick is not a Hall of Fame player. I was just pointing out that size does not preclude a player from hitting home runs.

I am comparing Frelick to an average major league RF, and he falls short there too.

He isn't average, he is terrible.

Where did anyone say he should hit 35 homers?
