Brewers (Rea) vs Padres (Cease): 6/21/24, 8:40pm

Here’s what drives me almost mad…..last night for some strange reason, Payamps refused to use a changeup against Cronenwerth even though he’s a left handed hitter. He instead hangs his regressed slider down the middle to lose the game. 
 

Today, even though Rea sucks against lefties, his splitter has played well as of late. He REFUSES to throw one against Cronenwerth, instead hangs a breaking ball down the middle to blow the lead. Then the very next pitch, he throws a splitter to a right handed hitter for a double!? Why are they not using proper pitches against the respective handed hitter they’re facing!!!!?

 

Seriously, between these pitchers, William, and the coaching staff, this is unbelievably stupid.

I said in the 4th inning that Rea shouldn't see the 3rd time through with the type of contact he was giving up. I know the pitch count was amazing but that Padres had been all over his stuff all night makes tons of hard contact. Can't believe our manager brought him back out for the 6th after he gave up a HR to Arraez to make it 4-3.

MIL is 44-31 with a mediocre-at-best roster/talent.  SD is 39-40 with all-stars and 9 figure contracts up and down the lineup and rotation.

I sure hope we aren't taking strategic notes from them.

Obviously we're not going to know for sure for a while but I'm not convinced that Black is going to be much of a big league hitter.
