Luke Adams with another single and two walks tonight.

Due up fifth top of nine, hopefully he gets another PA as the TRats try to rally back from the 3 to 2 deficit.

The Mudcats have the lone affiliated victory in their rain-called 7-inning 9-4 'W'. Can the T-Rats come back to steal this in the 9th? They trail 3-2 after Costello's 7th.

No soup for you! Lara hits into an inning ending DP. Hit a hard hit grounder right on to 1B with the first baseman protecting the bag with Fernandez there. Tough loss.

While the walks have still been too frequent, Vire has been much improved since coming back from injury. There was so much hope when they drafted/signed him, it would be nice if he could work his way back into at least the Carolina bullpen mix for next season.

I'm so curious as to why someone you hits ball as hard as he does, how does Luke Adams have such low babip. It was .280 last year. .290 this year. He has almost 20% line drive over past two years, sits around 40% GB and 40% FB. He does have very high near 30% IFFB though which is like really high.

Does he just have a ton of bad luck or simple need to stop popping out and hitting fouls that are caught? He seems like he has the hit tool but is always stuck in that .235-.240 range.

Proud member since 2003 (geez ha I was 14 then)

Lots of fly balls and pop ups would be my guess looking at these numbers. You're at about 13-14% of batted balls being infield fly balls this season for Adams. Also don't think 19% line drive rate is very high. Fly ball hitters tend to have lower BABIP's.
