The St. Louis Cardinals are acquiring Chicago White Sox right-hander Erick Fedde and outfielder Tommy Pham in a three-team deal that includes Tommy Edman going to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers are also getting right-hander Michael Kopech from the White Sox and minor league right-hander Oliver Gonzalez from the Cardinals in the deal. The White Sox get infielder/outfielder Miguel Vargas and prospects Jeral Perez and Alexander Albertus and a player to be named or cash considerations from the Dodgers. Fedde, 31, is 7-4 with a 3.11 ERA with the White Sox, his first in Chicago. He signed a two-year deal worth $15 million with the White Sox in the offseason after playing one year in Korea. Fedde is 28-37 with a 4.92 ERA in 123 career games (109 starts) with the Washington Nationals (2017-22) and ChiSox. Pham, 36, who began his major league career in St. Louis, is batting .266 with five home runs and 33 runs in 70 games this season. He's a career .259 hitter. Edman, 29, has yet to appear in a game this season after undergoing right wrist surgery last October. In 596 career games, all with the Cardinals over the past five seasons, Edman is a .265 hitter with 53 home runs and 222 RBIs. He won a National League Gold Glove Award at second base in 2021. Kopech, 28, is 2-8 with a 4.74 ERA with nine saves in 43 relief appearances this season. He's 17-33 with a 4.38 ERA in 146 career games (60 starts), all with the White Sox. Vargas, 24, is batting .239 with three HRs and nine RBIs in 30 games this season. Gonzalez, 17, was an international signing by the Cardinals earlier this year out of Panama. In the Dominican Summer League, he is 2-0 with a 4.22 ERA in 21 1/3 innings. Perez, 19, rated the Dodgers' No. 17 prospect by MLB Pipeline, hit .264 with 10 home runs and 42 RBIs in 75 games this season at Class-A Rancho Cucamonga. Albertus, 19, rated the Dodgers' No. 23 prospect by MLB Pipeline, hit a combined .298 with three home runs and 42 RBIs in 51 games this season at Rancho Cucamonga and rookie ball in the Arizona Complex League. --Field Level Media.

Mitchell being mentioned as a possible trade piece but still in the starting lineup.

Yeah, with his track record, that is a dangerous game to play.

Well we should probably stop looking at strike 3.

The swinging attempt wasn't much better.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave
