No chance the guy who was acting like the Cubs still had a chance in the division race 2 weeks ago is saying the race for the bye was over when the Brewers clinched.

They weren’t getting the bye.    Sure as hell not enough to play guys with hurt ankles and fingers etc for god sakes

they weren’t getting the bye over the dodgers or Phillies.    Whine all you want

This surely beats losing 90 plus games and hoping for the highest draft pick possible but at least for me its no longer satisfying to win the division followed by a quick playoff exit. Unless this team gets it act together and wins at least one playoff series the season for me will be a big disappointment despite not having high expectations going into the season.

Surely the attacks will come and anyone that feels differently and will be happy with the season even if we do nothing in the playoffs is more than entitled to feel that way but for me another quick playoff exit would be beyond disappointing. Call me crazy but I would like to win one World Series even if we struggle after winning that title.

They have basically played full strength lineups in this series outside of game 3.

Game 1 - Adames day off

Game 2 - full strength lineup

Game 3 - Chourio and Contreras day off

Game 4 - full strength lineup

So when the Cubs had a less than 1% chance to win the division you were fine stoking fear that they would come back but when the Brewers have a 5-15% chance to secure the bye after the Phillies series they had no chance?  That makes zero sense.

"Little to play for"? What kind of nonsense is that?! Play to win "anyway"; play to stay sharp; play to hone your game; play to get better. I see another quick exit from the playoffs with this attitude.  Wake up, guys.

I would like to know.     How many games do we have to win next week to assure us of winning  a playoff series.    4.   5.   All 6

tell what the formula is so I don’t even have to watch then

people are going way overboard right now      Guess what    We could win the next 6 games 25-0 and stilll get swept in the first round     There are a number of examples in the history of baseball that doesn’t correlate to anything

im not going to worry about it     Just make sure the arms are fresh and nagging injuries heal up

Zero, those are all next week like you said. We are in 1st by 9 games.

Win or lose. The fight they showed after going down 8-0 is encouraging. But they have to translate that into the Pittsburgh series. Pittsburgh has nothing to play for so there's no excuse.

They’re the second youngest team in baseball playing this season on house money. It’s pretty easy to see this being their worst team of the next half-decade.

Scoring nine runs after being down eight zip is more than a little life.
