They got the pitchers right, but I think Boeve (maybe even Adams and Pena) deserved the nod over Pratt.

Boeve missed way too much time with injury. I still think Areinamo is the best of the next choices - tho, Pena and Adams both had very productive seasons. Two DSL bats tho? Highly unlikely unless they are doing Made things in terms of all the peripherals eye candy he consistently put out there.

I mean, Boeve got 426 plate appearances and Pratt had 406. Their time was at least comparable, with Boeve obviously being a lot more productive at the plate against better competition.

Boeve had 342 PA not 426.

You're right, my bad. I added an additional row on FG.

Honestly I do agree that Areinamo probably was more deserving than Pratt. I'm really shocked Pratt won it. They really must love his defense at SS as that's the only thing that I see that could put him over players with more PA and better hitting results.

Unless I am remembering incorrectly, prospect status has often seemed to help swing things with these. I kind of thought Pratt might beat Adams/Areinamo/Martinez for that reason. That is one reason Hunt winning, despite being the seemingly obvious choice, is nice. It is a statement not just about his stats, but about how the organization sees him going forward.

It will be pretty cool to see the pitching at the higher levels. AAA may boast Gasser (once healthy and if not on the brewers), Rodriguez (2021 draft), Henderson (2021 draft), S. Smith (2021 UDFA), Misiorowski (2022 draft), Yoho (2023 draft), Hunt (2023 UDFA), and Wichrowski (2023 draft). And also likely R. Smith (2021 draft) and Markel (2022 UDFA).

Also the AA position players next year will include at one point - Burke, Areinamo, Pratt, Adams, Lara. While A ball will feature top prospects Payne, Bitonti, Made, Yophery, Baez, Peña,
