Quero #15

Pratt #44

Black #56

Jesus Made (!) #78

Misiorowski #87

Of note, thinks Black should be Brewers 1B full time because he would out produce Hoskins. Black projects as a better defender at 2B or CF than 1B but  is blocked at those  positions. Misiorowski’s shaky command will limit him to relief work in the majors. Jesus Made is the only player on his Top 100 who has yet to play stateside. Pretty high praise.

When prognosticators are pretty consistent at putting Made into that top 100 at this stage - which is way before Chourio ever sniffed a top 100 list - it is pretty damn exciting.

I do think the Black conundrum can be solved at the MLB level by simply letting him play everyday and see how he adjusts

The Black part about starting over Hoskins is interesting and probably true if Hoskins hits .214 again. I like the idea of a L/R 1B platoon and maybe sneak Black in some time in the OF (essentially the Bauers role last year) it shouldn't take to long to see if Black is the 1B of the future (defensively at least). If not hopefully EMJ or Boeve can be ready and I would make Black a full time OF.

I have always been on the let Misi start wagon, but looking at some stats that is a bit more iffy than what I have always felt. What would be a manageable bb rate for Misi to shed the future reliever moniker. In 97 innings he had 60 bb (5.5 bb/9), Luis Gil lead the league with 77 bb in just over 150 innings (4.6 bb/9). Misi would be over 90 with a similar workload, That seems like a pretty big gap to close. Really it seemed last year like he was ok with command except for 3-4 bad outing but I guess he did have enough 5 inning 3 bb games that don't seem bad but aren't very good.

I posted this on the minor league forum as well but speaking of Made/ Chourio comparisons…….starts at the 5 minute mark

Made is ranked a lot higher by BA, BP, Pipeline. But reading Keith Law's blurb on him, I wouldn't even say he's "low" on him. He basically says that he'll have to do it at a higher level first. Sounds like he thinks he will, and that he'll then be one of the absolute top prospects in the game. But that until he has, he'll be a tad lower.

 BA had him at #17

I'm pretty shocked that all the outlets have Made so high. I'm with Law when it comes to believing in DSL kids. However, I'm also with old school scouting+data, which I think is where all this helium is coming from.

I'll maintain, too, that I think that scouting+data has made amateur player procurement much less of a crapshoot than it was 10 years ago. I think owners and front offices became sick of giving high schoolers $5M to never make it out of A-ball. They decided that if they were going to invest in amateurs, they were going to get the right ones.

Therefore, Made is probably a legitimate top 50 prospect in baseball.

less of a crapshoot, haha.

Gilbert Lara supports your point. His first season was nine years before Made’s. In no minor league season did Lara OPS higher than .655. Made has already exceeded Lara’s achievements by a lot.
