As today started with outraged fans who just wanted Craig Yoho to pitch opening weekend in 2025 and are not getting to see that we must all take a step back and thank our lucky stars this team is in the place it is going into the opener and stop being so upset about each small transaction moving one way or another.   WE are the lucky team

Just ask the Pirates who just lost their other newest RHP ace Jared Jones to a Tommy John injury less than a week from the opening gun how bad things can be.      Being careful with pitchers who are going to be critical to the future of this baseball team now is a SMART thing.    We have a chance to win this entire damn thing in 2025 but it will take HEALTH and a lot of luck to get there and we seem to be in a very good place in that Dept.  Compared to many other teams contending this season in this regard.

Holding Tobias Myers out for a couple weeks after he cramped up in the chest is smart because we do not win this season without him making a big splash all over again this season.   Keeping Yoho in AAA ... well not this one.       My point is being Careful with Quintana,Woody  and Myers is probably a good move that will have no weight in about a month when everything will be different.

Baseball is change.    Keeping that to a minimum will help a underdog win .   If this group stays healthy it has the juice to do special things .  If if does not it opens the door to new faces who can do special things.   So really 2025 should be as fun as ever.    GET READY!

While a second opinion on a sore elbow many times leads to TJ, it hasn’t been announced yet what the exact injury is, so couldn’t you have waited for this post until we get official word on the injury?

Couldn’t you contribute something positive to move the discussion along, or was your intent clicking on the thread to criticize the poster.

I thought the contribution was positive.

OP stated the Pirates lost Jones to a Tommy John injury, which isn’t entirely accurate. so @SF70 clarified things.

No, while a little wordy the point was the Brewers are being careful with their pitchers they intend to rely on in 2025. Thus instead fans of being upset about who initially makes the team and doesn’t; it’s better to zoom out and see the whole picture. Compared to the Pirates the Brewers have been luckier with this strategy because the Pirates already lost their #2 pitcher Jones to a significant elbow injury.

If in your opinion, “couldn’t you have waited to post this” is a thought provoking response to the above which moves the discussion along, then I guess that’s your prerogative. However  it’s no wonder then why the discourse on this board is bottoming out.
