Interesting slate of starters...

Cornielle with his AA debut. Still one of my sleeper favorites.

Wande Torres in his state side debut for Carolina, hopefully there is some video feed for that game, otherwise MudcatsFaninBrunsCo will have to do the "play by play".

And we will see if Ryan Birchard has developed over the offseason

Finally Logan Henderson - let's see how the evolution continues as he tries to reign in his usually impeccable command and develop the dependable 3rd/4th pitches while at it in AAA.

Will there be an offensive let down after so many runs last night? Or will some offense (looking at you Mudcats) keep it going??

23-year old RHP Alexander Cornielle makes his AA debut as Biloxi seeks to even its home series against Columbus 1-1. This is INF Ethan Murray’s first Minor League outfield appearance.

Really nice to see C Ramón Rodríguez find success today. I continue to really like the player.

Luke Adams has looked quite overmatched at the dish early in Double-A. I'm really not all that surprised - we know it's a massive jump, his profile relied heavily on inflated HBP and BB totals in his way too patient approach. Then there is the ongoing swing adjustments and learning how to properly access and execute his innate power.

This being said, the most 'disappointing' early Shuckers AB's imho belong to FA signing OF Bladimir Restituyo. For a young man who has already seen some Double-A action in his young career, he's looked awfully uncomfortable early. Here's hoping he is just pushing and overdoing it as a very young player in a new organization. Lest he sour our ongoing harvests from the Rockies prospect tree!😅

Clarke has struck out in 142 of his 403 PAs since arriving in Nashville. That 35.2 K% is 153rd out of 156 batters with at least 400 PAs in AAA since the start of last year. 

For his AAA career Clarke is at a 12.2 BB% | 35.2K% | .211 ISO.

Out of the leadoff spot since 2022 Schwarber is at 14.9 BB% | 29.3 K% | .270 ISO.

They are the same kind of hitter, but Schwarber walks more, strikes out less and hits for way more power facing MLB pitchers than Wes has versus AAA arms. 

Schwarber's production has added up to a 130 wRC+ out of the leadoff spot since 2022, Clarke's production has added up to a 105 wRC+ in the crazy offensive environs of the International League.

20-year old LHP Wande Torres skips ACL ball and makes his Low-A Carolina debut, as they seek a 2-0 series advantage at Myrtle Beach. 2B Josh Adamczewski is 9-for-16 with a 1.000 SLG through 4 games.

The AAA Sounds look to take a 2-0 home series lead over Memphis, with RHP Logan Henderson (5.00 ERA, 16 Ks in 9 IP) making his 3rd start of 2025. CF Jared Oliva has 2 HRs, 4 RBIs and 12 total bases over his last 2 games.

Muddies plated three in their half of the 2nd frame. They lead 3-0. Looks like Torres tossed a 1 H, 1 K first frame. 13 pitches. 9 strikes. Yeah baby. I will never forget the Cubs org stealing this stateside debut from me. The 'hatred' will run even deeper. Glorious.

Muddies now lead 6-0 after an Alastre bases juiced groundout to 2B RBI. AND C Yannic Walther with a huge two-out two-rbi single to LF in an 0-2 count. Glorious. We have currently outscored the Pelicans 20- through 11 2/3 IP.
