Williams is definitely struggling there, as we all predicted.

I was not aware … but I am not surprised

Williams will miss Milwaukee

Milwaukee may not miss him any more than we do Hader

His ERA is 12, I think.  I expect he'll get better, but it's going to be tough for him there.

Agree.   But it becomes my money when the front office complains that we can’t pay anybody while we have fifty dudes riding a bike at practice because their oblique can’t handle it

if I could snap my fingers and change one thing, I would make guaranteed contracts illegal in mlb.

No its never your money

Boss hires you to do work at contracted price. You get hurt doing the work for the boss. Boss tells you he is no longer paying you, you have to go home and fix yourself, and he will pay you if and when you come back healthy enough to work?

They don’t.    They have disability insurance.  But that’s beside the point.  I understand the reality of it.  Mine is just a fantasy

but I also see the absurdity of the pitching profession in modern professional baseball.  Every starter is just a glorified long reliever.  Every bullpen has to be turned over by all star break.  And what do you get for protecting these guys.  Half of the season they don’t play.  There really are no pitching stars anymore    It’s just lame

but luckily mlb has a stock of clones named Anderson or Alexander that just fill in for the 37 guys on the DL

Time to fire up the magic number thread

I wanted to include it in the thread I created but I can’t do the math with 148 games to go

NY fans are as relentless as they come.  Devin Williams will need two fulltime psychiatrists now instead of just one and should talk to Aaron Rodgers and get some magic mushrooms to see his full inner being.

That bunt was going foul...

I think there is a great point made here, probably unintentionally. Murphy alludes to it at times. It's the idea of putting pressure on an opponent, stretching them, making them think. Sometimes they show bunt w/o intending to actually lay it down. Make the INF move, pull them in. Sometimes a bunt isn't handled properly. And sometimes, if enough stress is put on a catcher or corner INF, a bad decision is made-----like PICKING A BALL UP THAT WAS GOING FOUL. We've already benefited twice from that now, in sixteen games.

Every decision the players, or Murphy, makes isn't going to work. But big picture, I get it.

The JABO movie highlights what a gamer Pete Vukovich was for the 1982 Brewers down the stretch & into the playoffs … going deep into games with a painful torn rotator cuff

JABO movie?
