Low-A Carolina can clinch a road series win at Myrtle Beach tonight behind RHP Travis Smith’s 2nd start (2 IP, 3 R (2 ER), 4 H, 0 BB, 2 Ks last week). 2B Josh Adamczewski and 3B Luis Pena have both hit safely in 6 straight games.

In Nashville against Memphis, rehabbing Brandon Woodruff’s first official game since September 23, 2023 gives the AAA Sounds a chance to clinch their first series victory of 2025. After starting the season 0-for-13, 2B/C Anthony Seigler has lifted his AVG to .280 and OPS to a cool .900 (thru 36 PAs).

Three hitless, walkless innings with 2 Ks for Travis Smith, facing only 10 batters. Unfortunately that extra hitter was an HBP, who advanced on an error and scored on a wild pitch.

Jesus Made opened the game with a double and also scored on a wild pitch.

Carolina 1, Myrtle Beach 1 in the 4th inning.

Not watching, but gamecast says Made left the game after a HBP on the foot.

Gamecast might be wrong?  Looks like he's still in the game.

4 first inning walks and a grand slam conceded by Nate Peterson and Biloxi. That might dampen the home crowd enthusiasm. :(

Woodruff hit 93.8mph in the 1st inning, conceding an infield singed and striking out one batter looking.

Durbin (double) and Martinez (single) hit balls hard in a 2-run first for Nashville.

22-year old LHP Sam Garcia easily set Carolina’s early season team high for pitches (78) and tied the most batters faced (20), helping out a staff which threw 12 innings yesterday.

Marco Dinges knocked in 2 runs with a 5th inning single, then singled and scored in the top of the 8th inning.

Carolina 4, Myrtle Beach 3 heading to the 9th.

Jeez, on the 10th pitch of his hard-fought at-bat (and the 83rd pitch by the Myrtle Beach reliever), Dinges grounds into a bases loaded double play to keep stuck at 4-3 going to the bottom of the 9th.

It’s Jack Seppings’ time.

Durbin delivers his second double and an EMJ 111mph homer pushes Nashville’s lead to 4-0 in the 3rd inning. Woodruff has conceded two weak singles and a walk, striking out 4 with peak velocity of 94.4.

Seppings worked around a 1-out single, closing the door to push Carolina’s record to 7-1 with a 4-3 victory.

Woodruff hit 95.1mph on his 59th pitch, striking out old friend Bryan Torres.

But now he’s conceded consecutive first pitch, weakly hit singles, followed by a sac fly, plating 2 earned runs.

It looks like he’ll exit at 66 pitches.

Patricio Aquino and the Wisconsin defense orchestrated great escapes from 8th and 9th innings jams (the latter an Inning-opening triple).

It’s time for extra innings in Quad Cities, tied 1-1

Reverse jinx. 😀

EBJ with a three RBI double has it down to a 5-3 deficit.

Wilken has a single and double so far to push his OPS over .900

Easy to forget that Brock is still 22 years old. Him getting it back together would be huge.
