The Low-A Mudcats get us started today, with RHP Bryce Meccage (6.23 ERA with 4 Ks in 4.1 IP) and the team needing a bounce back as they seek a 2-1 home series lead over Delmarva. Through 10 games, 2B Josh Adamczewski leads the Carolina League in OPS, SLG, total bases and RBIs.

RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez has been terrific through 3 starts (0.61 ERA with 18 Ks in 14.2 IP) and looks to lead AAA Nashville to a 3rd straight win at Charlotte. Will 2B Andruw Monasterio extend his homer streak to 3 games?

Hopefully Letson isn't hurt and they are just letting Flores start with Letson coming in from the bullpen because today was supposed to be his day to start and he's not a projected starter for any of the other games this week. Nevermind he's listed as starting Saturday! False alarm!

Is Pena hurt? I noticed he was out of the lineup the last few days.

Yeah he must be but of course they haven't said anything about it.  I believe it took a couple of days before anyone said anything about Made's injury earlier in the year.

20-year old LHP Anthony Flores (4.50 ERA with 8 Ks in 6 IP) makes his first High-A start (3rd appearance), as Wisconsin needs a home win over Lansing to avoid a 3-0 series deficit. 2B Jadher Areinamo aims to extend his hitting streak to 7 games.

The AA Shuckers are shooting for a 4th straight victory and 3-0 road series lead at Birmingham, with RHP KC Hunt (7.94 ERA with 5 Ks in 5.2 IP) making his 3rd start of 2025. 2B Eric Brown Jr. and DH Brock Wilken have 10-game and 9-game on-base streaks, respectively.

Unless I've totally lost my mind, Meccage just got 4 outs in the 1st and nobody realized it?? There was a runner on 2nd with 2 outs and for whatever reason Made threw ahead of the runner to start a rundown at 3rd instead of getting the final out at 1st. I think that happening made everyone forget that there were 2 outs at the time. Then Meccage pitched and got a 4th out.

They called a balk after the first groundout. Guy hit a double the next pitch.

This is what I get for listening on mute and skipping between pitches.

Who had DiTuri out-OPSing and out-slugging Bitonti after the first 2 weeks of the season, and with more HRs too?

And Bitonti ain't hitting too bad (way way too many Ks this season so far) but still hitting well and he had a double in the 1st inning.

Braylon Payne walked, went to second on an errant pickoff, stole third, and scored on an Adamczewski sac fly bottom of one to tie things up at one each.

Filippo Di Turi singled, went to second on a passed ball, then to third on a Reece Walling groundout before scoring on a Blayberg Diaz single to give Carolina a 2-1 lead.

Bryce Meccage has settled in nicely after the first frame and put up a pair of 1-2-3 innings.

After retiring 10 straight, Meccage hangs a breaking pitch that was hit deep to left center and Payne cannnot catch up to it - it was very well hit.

Runner on 2nd, and they take Meccage out as he is approaching 60 pitches (55 pitches). Still nice to get to the 4th inning, ties his career high (3.2 IP)

Anfernny Reyes uncorked a wild pitch en route to walking his first batter in relief of Meccage, but then induced a flyout to get out of the inning unscathed.

Marco Dinges walk, Reece Walling single and Blayberg Diaz double have netted Carolina a third run bottom of four.

Two on, one out for Luiyin Alastre who comes through with the two RBI single, now 5-1 Mudcats.

Early cycle watch for Jared Oliva as he adds a homer onto his first inning triple to give Nashville a 3-0 lead.

Carlos Rodriguez has worked around a single and three walks to put up three scoreless frames (4 K) so far.

A walk (Raynel Delgado) a balk, a single and stole base (Adam Hall), another walk (Freddy Zamora) loads em up for Daz Cameron who comes through with the sac fly for the fourth Sounds run.

Anfernny came back out for a zero in the fifth (1 K) and Tanner Gillis followed up with a zero of his own in the sixth (1 K) with a little help from Luiyin Alastre gunning down a runner trying to stretch a single to end the inning.

Meanwhile in Zebulon, Blayberg singled, went to third on an Alastre single, and scored on a Made groundout to make it a 7-1 ballgame.

Oh, but that wasn’t all.

Payne reached on an E4, Bitonti walked and a passed ball scored Alastre. 8-1 Mudcats.

Something to keep an eye on. Braylon Payne had an injury delay after a foul ball earlier in the game and Tyler Rodriguez just pinch ran for him. Hopefully just a precautionary thing with the big lead.

Believe Bitonti and Adamczewski also had injury delay/foul ball combos earlier as well.

Anthony Flores was cruising through three before giving up a pair of bombs and three runs in the fourth.

Eduardo Garcia answered back with a blast of his own to get Wisco on the board trailing 3-1.
